Hanoi Police FC was awarded 300 million VND by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) after their victory against Kuala Lumpur City (Malaysia) last night, January 23rd. Coach Alexandre Polking and his players secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship as the top team in Group B, even before their final match.
At the end of the group stage, Hanoi Police FC will receive over $150,000. This is the amount the organizers will distribute to all participating teams from a prize fund totaling $3 million (over 75 billion VND). The tournament champion will receive $500,000.

Hanoi Police FC played four matches in the group stage of the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Football Championship, winning all of them. The Vietnamese representative defeated Buriram United (Thailand), Lion City Sailors (Singapore), Kaia Iloilo (Philippines), and Kuala Lumpur City (Malaysia). In their final match, Hanoi Police FC will face Borneo (Indonesia).
Besides topping Group B, Hanoi Police FC also impressed by being the highest-scoring team in the group stage up to the fourth matchday. Nguyen Quang Hai and his teammates have scored 12 goals, the same as Buriram United. Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip has conceded 4 goals, including 2 in the most recent match against Kuala Lumpur City away from home.
Vietnamese football has another representative at the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship: Dong A Thanh Hoa . The reigning National Cup champions are currently fourth in Group A and are in a difficult position in the competition for a semi-final spot.
In the final matchday, Thanh Hoa will face PSM Makassar away from home. The team from Thanh Hoa must win to advance. In the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Club Championship, the reigning National Cup champions are undefeated but have only one win against Shan United, with the remaining three matches ending in draws.
If Thanh Hoa defeats PSM Makassar, they will be guaranteed a place in the semi-finals regardless of their remaining opponents. In the other match played at the same time, the top two teams, Pathum United (8 points) and Terengganu (7 points), will face each other.
If they draw or lose, Thanh Hoa FC will be eliminated. In that case, they will definitely finish behind Pathum United (due to fewer points) and PSM Makassar (due to an inferior goal difference).
