At the program, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers and other units presented long-term sponsorship packages to 371 children orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic and children in difficult circumstances in Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City with a total value of 8.9 billion VND.
Accordingly, each child receives a sponsorship package of 24 million VND/year (2 million VND/month). In addition, the children also receive a Tet gift, including a pair of banh chung, banh tet, a carton of milk and 1.5 million VND in cash from the program.
According to Mr. Le Anh Quan, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers, more than 3 years have passed since Covid-19 appeared and became the biggest pandemic in the world.
People everywhere, including Vietnam, still cannot forget those difficult, painful and loss-filled days.
In that context, thousands of children suddenly have to face a difficult life, suffering severe physical and mental damage; many children lack the love, care and nurturing of their parents.
More than ever, children need to receive love and sharing from the community and society to overcome loss, stabilize their lives and become useful people in society.
Recognizing the losses of these children, over the past 3 years, the Central Council of the Young Pioneers has coordinated with sponsors to implement the program "Connecting loving arms with Lof Kun" to care for and provide long-term sponsorship for 816 orphaned children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic nationwide.
The children will receive a sponsorship package of 2 million VND/child/month from October 2021 until they turn 18 years old.
The Vice President of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers hopes that the children will continue to try harder, live well, and strive to achieve their dreams to become useful people for society, so that their parents and relatives will always smile and be proud of them.
On the same day, the Central Council of Young Pioneers coordinated with Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien to present a "Cheer up" playground for children, worth 50 million VND.
The project is located at Central Psychiatric Hospital 2 (Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai), this is a special playground for children being treated for mental illness here.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Thang, Deputy Director of Central Mental Hospital 2, said that this is a priceless gift, very meaningful to the Hospital and the children being treated here.
This playground can contribute 50% to the treatment that medicine cannot do, helping children progress faster in the treatment process.
