On September 13, the program "Accompanying people and children in the flood-hit areas of the North" continued, organized by the Can Tho City Youth Union and the Can Tho City Vietnamese Student Association.
The program has become a meaningful bridge for Can Tho people and youth to donate and support people in the flood-hit areas of the North.

According to the organizers, after 3 days of launching, the program received more than 70 tons of goods and necessities including instant noodles, mineral water, milk, canned food, medicine, medical supplies, school supplies, etc. and more than 7.5 tons of clothes from people, businesses, and philanthropists in Can Tho.
The program has established 15 reception points located in Ninh Kieu, Cai Rang, Binh Thuy districts (Can Tho city ), Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long provinces...

At the reception point of the Can Tho City Student Support Center (57 Le Loi, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City ), many essential necessities such as instant noodles, mineral water, clothes, milk... were directly brought by Can Tho people, all with one heart towards the people of the North.
Mr. Tran Viet Tuan - Deputy Secretary of Can Tho City Youth Union - said this is an activity with noble humanitarian meaning, demonstrating the solidarity and responsibility of youth and people to each other.
Thereby contributing to encouraging, reducing pain and loss, helping people in flood-affected areas gradually stabilize their lives and restore production.

"The program is also an opportunity to respond to the call of the Central Youth Union, contributing to supporting localities to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.
Can Tho City Youth Union has taken action and issued an appeal to all Youth Union officials, members and youth in the city to join hands and wholeheartedly participate in supporting, sharing and assisting," said Mr. Tuan.
The program accepts contributions from September 11 to 20, 2024. The organizers added that it will be divided into several trips for transportation.
Mr. Phuong Tan Dat - Director of the Can Tho City Student Support Center, the program's implementing unit - said that in recent days, more than 1,000 students have participated in the support, and many teachers from schools and philanthropists have also been on duty at the points to receive enthusiastic support.
"Through this program, we can see the precious solidarity and love of Vietnamese people.
This evening, the first truck to Thai Binh province has started rolling and it is expected that by Sunday afternoon (September 15), the truck will arrive in the province, all the goods will be sent to the people here.
After that, on September 13 and 14, we will continue the charity trip to Son La and Tuyen Quang provinces," said Mr. Dat.

Accompanying the bus, driver Nguyen Van Long (42 years old, from Ha Tinh) shared that this was the third trip he supported in transporting.
"I also want to contribute to driving to deliver goods and only take money for gas, and also hope that people in the North will quickly receive support from Can Tho people," said Mr. Long.
