The State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam was a great success in all aspects, contributing significantly to the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which is of strategic significance and contributes to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

On August 22, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to a reporter's question asking about the outstanding results of the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said:

State visit The visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam was a great success in all aspects, contributing significantly to the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance and contributes to peace, stability and development in the region and the world. Within the framework of the visit, the two sides reached a Joint Statement on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, promote Building a community of shared future Vietnam-China .

The visit achieved some outstanding results as follows:

The first, The top leaders of the two Parties and two countries affirmed their importance to the bilateral relationship; both considered the priority of developing the relationship between the two Parties and two countries as a strategic choice; both affirmed their support for each other to successfully achieve the country's development goals. The two sides agreed to continue to effectively implement the high-level common perceptions reached between the leaders of the two Parties and two countries during recent visits, further strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Vietnam and China promote the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future in the direction of “6 more”: higher political trust, more substantive security-defense cooperation, deeper substantive cooperation, more solid social foundation, closer multilateral coordination and better control and resolution of disagreements, contributing to making the bilateral relationship achieve more substantive results, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Monday, The two sides discussed the direction of cooperation in various fields, including agreeing to strengthen cooperation in strategic areas such as diplomacy, defense, and security; expanding cooperation connecting the “Belt and Road” initiative with the “Two Corridors, One Belt” framework…. The two sides agreed to facilitate trade, expand the export of Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products to China. The two sides encouraged and supported enterprises with strength, reputation, and advanced technology to invest in the other country and expand cooperation in new areas such as digital economy, circular economy, green development, clean energy, renewable energy…

Tuesday, The two sides agreed to designate 2025 as the "Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange" and jointly organize a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations.

Wednesday, The two sides will strengthen coordination and multilateral cooperation; strengthen cooperation in mechanisms such as the United Nations and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum.

Thursday, The two sides had a sincere and frank exchange of views on maritime issues, emphasizing the need to better control and actively resolve maritime disputes on the basis of complying with high-level common perceptions, the “Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues between Vietnam and China”, international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and jointly maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea and the region. The two sides also agreed to continue to coordinate effectively in implementing legal documents on land borders and related agreements, and to strengthen cooperation in the Vietnam-China land border area.

On this occasion, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries signed a total of 16 cooperation documents in the fields of connectivity, industry, customs quarantine, health, press and media, local cooperation and people's livelihood.
