Accordingly, Bach Mai Hospital will transfer to doctors of Van Giang District Medical Center (Hung Yen) the technique of treating kidney disease in general and artificial kidney in particular. The transfer and training will be carried out closely, "hand-holding" so that medical staff at lower levels can quickly master their expertise and techniques.
Ecopark donated 1 RO filtration system and filter washing system; 5 artificial kidney dialysis machines worth more than 2.2 billion VND to Van Giang District Medical Center.
Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan said that the "Program of transferring technology and donating treatment equipment to Van Giang District Medical Center" demonstrates the humane meaning, the concern and sharing of the whole society, the responsibility of organizations and individuals committed to the continuous efforts to improve the quality of life, enhance health, and strengthen the capacity of grassroots health care so that people can increasingly access quality medical services.
The leaders of the Ministry of Health requested that the Van Giang District Medical Center immediately use the supported medical equipment effectively after receiving it; at the same time, send specialized staff to receive training and technology transfer on kidney disease and artificial kidney from experts of Bach Mai Hospital.
Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan stated that in addition to the artificial kidney specialty, the Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee and the Hung Yen Department of Health will compile statistics and reassess the need for medical professional development in the area. Any specialty that needs continued support will be discussed with the Ministry of Health. When the province has a need, the Ministry of Health will direct and coordinate appropriate leading hospitals to provide support.
Every day, Van Giang District Medical Center examines about 400 to 500 patients; regularly receives and treats about 200 patients. Many of these people have chronic diseases, in which the treatment needs of patients with artificial kidney are increasing.
However, due to the lack of equipment and human resources, many patients with artificial kidney in the area have to go to neighboring medical facilities or to higher levels for treatment and dialysis. Therefore, the leaders of Hung Yen province requested the Van Giang District Medical Center to thoroughly implement the professional instructions of the leaders of the Ministry of Health in order to increasingly improve the work of taking care of people's health, helping people enjoy quality medical care right in their locality.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Tung, Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital, Hung Yen currently has three medical units implementing dialysis for kidney patients; it is estimated that the whole province has more than 1,000 patients. In Van Giang district alone, there are about more than 100 patients needing dialysis. This shows that the demand for dialysis of patients is quite large and requires about 20 machines with a capacity of dialysis 3 shifts/day.
With experience in transferring specialized techniques, Bach Mai Hospital ensures close transfer so that doctors of Van Giang District Medical Center can master the techniques and ensure patient safety.
At the program, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan visited, encouraged and presented 20 gifts to poor patients being treated at Van Giang District Medical Center.
