Continuing the working program, on August 8, experts from the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) - UNESCO conducted a field assessment of the relic sites of Dong Pagoda, the reclining Buddha statue, Amitabha stele, An Ky Sinh stone statue, Van Tieu Pagoda, Bao Sai Pagoda, in Yen Tu Relic and Landscape Complex (Uong Bi City).

The relics, including both natural and man-made, have a long history and demonstrate the rich values of the Yen Tu Relic and Landscape Complex - one of the central areas of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Relic and Landscape Complex, which is being nominated by Vietnam for UNESCO recognition as a World Heritage Site.
According to the plan, the field assessment program of the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex in Vietnam by ICOMOS experts will take place from August 5-15. Of which, the field assessment time in Quang Ninh will be from August 6-11.

The Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relic and scenic complex consists of 6 special national relic sites in 3 provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Bac Giang, which are strictly protected according to the Law on Cultural Heritage. In particular, in Quang Ninh alone, there are 3 special national relic sites including Yen Tu relic and scenic site in Uong Bi city, Tran dynasty relic site in Dong Trieu town and Bach Dang victory relic site in Quang Yen town.
The scientific dossier was chaired by Quang Ninh province, in coordination with Bac Giang and Hai Duong localities and a large team of leading domestic and international experts who participated in research and development for many years. This is the submitted scientific dossier with the most criteria according to the 1972 Convention, both researched, demonstrated and written with fast, positive and urgent progress. At the same time, it is an unprecedented heritage dossier in Vietnam, as the scope of research and development spans the three provinces of Quang Ninh, Bac Giang and Hai Duong.
When the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiep Bac relic and scenic complex is recognized as a world heritage, it will be a solid foundation for preserving and promoting the value of the relic associated with the sustainable development of the three provinces in the heritage area, including Quang Ninh.
