In today’s ever-evolving technology world, modern enterprise application development cycles are getting shorter. Technology leaders are using innovative tools to accelerate digital transformation and gain a competitive advantage. Technology integration or transfer plays a key role in this process, helping organizations create better products faster.
Speaking at the conference “Applying technology to accelerate innovation and conquer global markets” held today (January 26), Mr. Bob Jones - Executive Vice President, Global Business Division of Siemens - cited Statista's prediction that worldwide spending on digital transformation is expected to reach 3.4 trillion USD by 2026. According to Gartner, 91% of businesses are involved in some form of digital initiative and 87% of senior business leaders say digitalization is a priority.
“The world is changing and so are customer expectations. Complexity needs to be turned into a competitive advantage and successful digital transformation is rooted in the company’s strategy,” said Mr. Jones.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Vu Quoc Huy - Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC) - assessed: "Technology is increasingly becoming a decisive factor in business development. Especially for businesses that want to reach out to the global market, learning, transferring, and searching for suitable technologies to apply are very important conditions."
In fact, Vietnam is considered one of the countries with a dynamic innovation ecosystem thanks to the rapid development of the digital economy and the strong growth of the technology sector. In 2022, Vietnam's digital economy grew by 28% compared to 2021, from 18 billion USD to 23 billion USD, the highest increase in the Southeast Asia region. Not only that, Vietnam's digital economy is forecast to grow twice as fast as GDP by 2030 (19% compared to 9%).
According to Mr. Huy, right in Hanoi, NIC has also cooperated with Siemens to build a digital experience space for the smart factory sector. These technology solutions help manufacturers identify technology application solutions that can be applied and deployed in their businesses.
Also at the workshop, representatives of NIC and a number of businesses in the smart factory sector gave their opinions, exchanged experiences and discussed technology trends and the role of technology in accelerating innovation and penetrating the global market.
