Converting the purpose of nearly 90 hectares of forest land

DNO - On the morning of November 15, at the 14th session (special session) of the 10th City People's Council, the City People's Council delegates discussed and voted to approve the City People's Committee's proposal to convert nearly 90 hectares of planted forest land, which is production forest land, to other purposes in key projects in the area.

Specifically, the City People's Committee has a document to convert 29.73 hectares of planted forest land from production forest land to other purposes at the Lang Van integrated resort and entertainment project in Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu district).

The City People's Committee also submitted a proposal to convert 43.88 hectares of production forest land to other purposes at the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park project (Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district) and 0.46 hectares of production forest land at the project of Private roads, earth retaining walls and office equipment of the Hoa Bac Technical Logistics Base (Hoa Vang district) to other purposes.

Converting the purpose of 4.95 hectares of production forest to another purpose in the project to invest, upgrade and renovate some items of Khanh Son Solid Waste Treatment Complex Phase 2 (garbage compartment No. 7 at Khanh Son landfill).

According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam, the Lang Van Tourism and Resort Complex project is planned on a land area of ​​nearly 1,000 hectares with Vinpearl Joint Stock Company as the investor. The total investment capital of the Lang Van project is expected to be 35,000 billion VND.

Upon completion, the Lang Van project will contribute to the formation of tourism service infrastructure, high-class urban areas, high-class tourism service products, and contribute to creating jobs for local people.

On the other hand, while converting forest land from production forest land to other purposes, the city needs to direct the planting of replacement forests according to regulations; at the same time, there should be a plan to harmonize the rights and interests of households assigned to use forest land when the State reclaims it for conversion.

Through the review report of the Urban Committee of the City People's Council on the proposals for converting production forest land areas in a number of projects, Chairman of the City People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that, for the Lang Van integrated resort and entertainment area, it is recommended that during the implementation process, the city should pay attention to the accuracy of determining the classification of planted forests and natural forests as well as the accuracy in assessing the location, boundaries, area, and current status of forests according to the provisions of Article 20 of the Forestry Law.

“In the process of reclaiming planted forest land, the city needs to take advantage of green areas of the forest during project implementation, avoiding too much intervention in natural forest areas, leading to changes in the landscape of the forest,” the Chairman of the City People's Council emphasized.

Regarding the proposal to convert 43.88 hectares of production forest land to other purposes at the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park project, the Chairman of the City People's Council said that this is an important project.

Therefore, the approval of the resolution on converting forest land purposes will soon complete the procedures and legal documents to soon implement the investment project to build Hoa Ninh Industrial Park, one of the city's key projects.
