Specifically, the City People's Committee has submitted a proposal to convert 29.73 hectares of planted forest land, currently designated as production forest land, to other purposes within the Lang Van integrated resort and entertainment complex project in Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu district).
The City People's Committee also submitted a proposal to convert 43.88 hectares of production forest land to other purposes at the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park project (Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district) and 0.46 hectares of production forest land at the Hoa Bac Technical Logistics Base project (Hoa Vang district) to other purposes.
The conversion of 4.95 hectares of production forest to other purposes is part of the investment project to upgrade and renovate some components of the Khanh Son Solid Waste Treatment Complex, Phase 2 (waste compartment No. 7 at the Khanh Son landfill).
According to Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Le Quang Nam, the Lang Van Tourism and Resort Complex project is planned on a land area of nearly 1,000 hectares and is invested by Vinpearl Joint Stock Company. The total investment capital for the Lang Van project is expected to be 35,000 billion VND.
Upon completion, the Van Village project will contribute to the development of tourism service infrastructure, a high-end urban area, and world-class tourism products and services, while also creating jobs for local people.

On the other hand, while converting planted forest land designated for production to other purposes, the city needs to direct the planting of replacement forests in accordance with regulations; and at the same time, develop a plan to harmoniously handle the rights and interests of households that have been allocated land for forest planting when the State reclaims it for conversion.
Following the verification report of the City People's Council's Urban Affairs Committee on proposals for converting production forest land in several projects, City People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet stated that, regarding the Lang Van integrated resort and entertainment area, the city should pay attention to the accuracy of determining the classification of planted forests and natural forests, as well as the accuracy of assessing the location, boundaries, area, and current status of the forest according to the regulations in Article 20 of the Forestry Law.
"During the process of reclaiming planted forest land, the city needs to utilize the green areas of the forest during project implementation, avoiding excessive interference with natural forest areas, which could lead to changes in the forest landscape," the Chairman of the City People's Council emphasized.
Regarding the proposal to convert 43.88 hectares of production forest land to other purposes within the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park project, the Chairman of the City People's Council stated that this is an important project.
Therefore, the adoption of the resolution on converting forest land will soon complete the legal procedures and documents to expedite the implementation of the Hoa Ninh Industrial Park construction project, one of the city's key projects.
