The 'Spring of Solidarity' program

The preparations for Tet (Lunar New Year) in Ho Chi Minh City were thorough, safe, and economical, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for the city's people to celebrate the holiday. Specifically, the city provided over 200,000 gift packages, with a total budget exceeding 110 billion VND.

On the afternoon of February 4th, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a quick report on activities to prepare for the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Committee, People's Council, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee participated in the tree planting activity after the Lunar New Year on February 4th.

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with political and social organizations of the city, inaugurated activities to care for the Lunar New Year 2025 (Year of the Snake) with the theme "Spring of Unity - Tet of Compassion". This series of activities will take place from now until the end of the 27th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon, including many diverse and rich programs.

The programs, including: Tet Reunion; Tet of Compassion; Free Transportation; Spring for Soldiers, Spring of Love; Free Supermarket - Tet 2025, provide Tet gifts, bus tickets, train tickets… to care for war veterans, union members, association members, vulnerable people, and people in difficult circumstances.

Besides the attention and care given to implementing social welfare policies by the City Party Committee and the city government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system in Ho Chi Minh City at all levels coordinated the organization of the "Spring of Solidarity - Tet of Compassion" program, providing more than 200,000 gifts with a total budget of over 110 billion VND.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City launched the "Spring of Solidarity - Tet of Compassion" festival in 273 residential areas across the city, receiving attention and guidance from the Party committees and resources from all levels of government.

According to the assessment of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the "Spring of Solidarity - Tet of Compassion" festival in residential areas took place enthusiastically, with the participation and support of a large number of people.

Many activities were successfully and thoughtfully organized, such as: Decorating the "Street Corner for Tet - Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025"; the "Wrapping and cooking banh chung and banh tet, decorating apricot and peach branches, displaying the five-fruit tray, making Tet jam" festival to celebrate the Year of the Snake; the Spring Flower Festival; the Tet rural market, etc.

In addition, the city also organized recreational, cultural, artistic, sports , folk dance, and traditional activities associated with the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, such as the "Spring of Unity - Tet of Affection" meal. Through these activities, the preparations for Tet were thorough, safe, and economical, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for the city's people to celebrate the New Year.
