On the morning of April 26, in Nho Phong village, Duc Long commune (Nho Quan), the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the People's Committee of Nho Quan district to organize a program to release fish fry to restore aquatic resources in 2024.
Attending the launching ceremony were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province, leaders of the People's Committee of Nho Quan district; officials and people of Duc Long commune.
Ninh Binh is located in the Red River Delta, with all three ecological zones: mountainous, delta, and coastal; creating many advantages for comprehensive development of the fisheries industry, including: farming, exploitation, processing, and product consumption services.
In recent times, the province has always paid attention to the protection of aquatic resources, synchronously implementing solutions associated with protecting the marine, river and lake environment and regenerating aquatic resources.
From 2021-2023, the authorities organized 53 inspections on 542 fishing vessels; detected and handled 83 violations and electric fishing vessels, imposing fines of nearly 250 million VND. Organized the release of 1.4 million fish of various types into natural waters of Ninh Binh province. Thanks to that, aquatic resources have shown positive signs of recovery. The density of aquatic species has increased, balancing the ecosystem.
During this fish seed release, delegates released about 35,000 Vietnamese carp in the Hoang Long River basin in Duc Long commune, Nho Quan district. This is a traditional fish species, adapted to the natural conditions of the river, can grow and reproduce well to supplement the natural fish source.
The fish seed release program is practical activities, demonstrating the role and responsibility of all levels and sectors in regenerating and developing aquatic resources. Thereby, propagating to the community not to exploit aquatic resources destructively; launching and arousing the movement of the whole people to participate in protecting, regenerating and restoring aquatic resources, contributing to protecting the environment and biodiversity.
