The Vietnam Women's Museum will launch a special art experience program called "Legends of Youth" at 8:00 p.m. on October 20.
The program aims to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Dong Loc Victory and commemorate 10 female youth volunteer martyrs (1968-2023), the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and Vietnamese Women's Day October 20.
The program will recreate the story that happened at the Dong Loc T-junction battlefield in 1968, on the main route 15A.
Here, 10 female youth volunteers lived, fought, studied, worked and heroically sacrificed their lives while performing the task of ensuring the route for convoys carrying weapons and food from the North to support the Southern battlefield during the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Director Le Quy Duong said that he and his design team will create a setting that will make the audience feel like they are living in the space of Dong Loc Intersection, not just a stage setting.
From this idea, the program director coordinated with the Dong Loc Relic Site Management Board to transport 5 tons of soil from the old Dong Loc T-junction battlefield to Hanoi.
The soil will be packed into large and small bags for the director to decorate the stage. This will be a unique and special installation art work with profound historical value.
Through the story of the 10 girls of Dong Loc T-junction, the program recreates the story of the immortal flowers who lived and fought at the fiery Dong Loc T-junction, conveying a strong message to future generations about the spirit of "Living a life worth living".
