On the evening of April 21, at the Southern Military Theater (Ho Chi Minh City), the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army organized a special chamber symphony art program "Song of Unification," to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and a large number of officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people of Ho Chi Minh City attended the Program.
The special symphonic and chamber music program “Song of Unification” includes the opening with the Overtune “Country on the Shore of Waves - Footprints Ahead,” recreating Vietnam from the dawn of its founding, the struggles to preserve sovereignty, President Ho Chi Minh’s journey to find a way to save the country, and its development in the new era.
The main content of the Program consists of 3 chapters. Chapter 1 with the theme "The South goes first and comes last" includes works such as "Return to the Motherland" (Nguyen Van Thuong); "Grateful to Ms. Vo Thi Sau" (Nguyen Duc Toan), "Battalion 307" (Nguyen Huu Tri)... reflecting the historical space of the period of national liberation struggle until 1954, expressing patriotism, fighting spirit and indomitable spirit of the nation.

Chapter 2 has the theme "Song of the Battle" with songs that have been around for years such as "Footsteps on the Truong Son Range" (Vu Trong Hoi), "On the top of Truong Son we sing" (Huy Du), "Bringing rice to mother plowing" (Han Ngoc Bich), "Song of Hanoi" (Vu Thanh)... praising the loyal spirit of our army and people, the bravery of the soldiers, the love for the home front, the desire for peace, recalling the tragic and heroic period of our army and people from 1954-1975.
Chapter 3 with the theme "Victory Monument" includes the works "Ben Tre Posture" (Nguyen Van Ty), "Dak Rong River, Spring Returns" (To Hai); Medley "Spring in the War Zone - Greetings to the Liberation Army, Celebrating the Great Spring Victory" (Xuan Hong-Hoang Van), "You Are the Faith of Certain Victory" (Chu Minh), "Song of Unification" (Vo Van Di)... depicting heroic images in the resistance war against the US, national pride in the moment of victory as well as expressing the history, strength and aspirations of Vietnam through the stages of national unification, innovation, international integration and steady development into the new era.
The program "Song of Unification" with the participation of the Army Symphony Orchestra; artists from the University of Military Culture and Arts, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army and the Choir of the Ho Chi Minh City Opera and Ballet Theater.
The artists participating in the performance include many prominent faces such as People's Artist Duong Minh Duc; Meritorious Artists: Vu Thang Loi, Pham Khanh Ngoc, Van Mai...
The orchestra was conducted by Colonel, People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac and Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach.

The special chamber symphony art program “Song of Reunification” aims to widely propagate the significance, stature and great historical value of the Great Spring Victory of 1975, a golden milestone of the Vietnamese nation; affirming the Victory of April 30, 1975 as a great achievement in the cause of national liberation led by our Party and President Ho Chi Minh; honoring and deeply expressing gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who did not spare their blood and bones, dedicating their whole lives to the cause of national liberation.
From there, it arouses and promotes the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and the will to fight and win of our people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
At the same time, affirming the everlasting value of the Victory of April 30, 1975, enhancing the responsibility of today's generation in preserving and promoting the heroic tradition of the nation, turning pride into motivation, joining hands to build and protect the Fatherland in the era of national development./.
