Author exchange program, work introduction

DTO - In the series of activities of the 4th Book and Reading Culture Day of Dong Thap province - 2025, on the afternoon of April 19, at the Provincial Library, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a program to exchange authors and introduce works. Attending were representatives of the Provincial Library's leadership; poets, members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, along with many union members, youth, students, and high school students in Cao Lanh City.

Author Ho Van introduces the short story collection "The Scent of Lotus" at the Author and Work Exchange Program

At the program, delegates, union members, youth, students, and pupils had the opportunity to interact with author Ho Van and listen to an introduction to the short story collection "Scent of Lotus" by the author. Accordingly, author Ho Van's real name is Ho Van Nhinh - a member of the Folk Literature and Arts Association, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. Author Ho Van is a successful writer in many fields such as: criticism theory, memoirs, folk literature. The work "Scent of Lotus" is one of the author's outstanding short story collections. The work consists of 13 short stories about the image of lotus trees in the countryside of Thap Muoi, stories and people close, rustic, and dear in the countryside of Dong Thap.

In addition, union members, youth, students, and pupils interacted and asked many questions to author Ho Van about inspiration in writing, how to inspire creative inspiration... At the same time, they listened to author Ho Van share about the opportunity to come to the artistic path; concerns in creative activities; the author's thoughts and feelings for the characters in the work "Scent of Lotus". According to author Ho Van, to write requires the writer to have emotions, life experience, true sympathy for the characters, especially to read many books to gain more knowledge. Through the sharing of author Ho Van at the exchange session, it contributed to inspiring, arousing the passion for literary creation and reading culture among union members, youth, students, and pupils.

Ms. Le Tran Thi My Ngoc (residing in Hamlet 1, My Tan Commune, Cao Lanh City) participated in the book reading and appreciation activity for the disabled and visually impaired.

Earlier, on the same morning (April 19), the Provincial Library organized a special activity on reading and appreciating books with the theme "Books - The Key to Success" for people with disabilities and visual impairments in the province. There were 27 people with disabilities and visual impairments participating in reading books and sharing their feelings about the books they read; answering questions related to the 4th Dong Thap Province Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025.

It is known that in the series of activities responding to the 4th Book and Reading Culture Day of Dong Thap province - 2025, from now until April 21, 2025, at the Provincial Library, there will be attractive activities to serve readers and children such as: Art program to welcome Book and Reading Culture Day 2025; thematic talks on Book and Reading Culture Day; competitions: Book display space - artistic book arrangement, Book review, reading books and answering questions. Along with that is the organization of the Mobile Library "Light of Knowledge", reading activities to solve crossword puzzles, reading books and guiding practice from books... Through activities to spread the love and passion for reading to everyone and develop a reading culture in the community.
