The opening ceremony will take place on Nguyen Hue walking street and in front of the City People's Committee headquarters. The opening art program combines tradition and modernity, including a 3D Mapping art performance on the facade of the City People's Committee headquarters, using light, sound combined with a symphony-choir concert; traditional music and dance performances, traditional opera, traditional martial arts, circus, puppetry, modern dance, street art, and contemporary music.
At the Bach Dang Wharf Park area, the audience will enjoy a parade of flower lanterns, traditional music, water sports performances such as flyboard, sailing, water jet... contributing to creating a unique performance space on the Saigon River. The special highlight of the opening night is the performance of 2,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) combined with artistic fireworks to light up the city sky, creating a brilliant and spectacular light space.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, a series of response activities will take place continuously until April 30 throughout the city with diverse content: Organizing art programs "City Colors", "Youth Rhythm", "Future Journey" at three stages along Nguyen Hue walking street; installation art exhibition "From Bach Dang Victory to the Great Victory of April 30, 1975"; program "Intellectual Property and Music - Feeling the Rhythm of Creation" organized by the Copyright Office (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with the city to raise public awareness of copyright in the field of music, while spreading the message that Ho Chi Minh City is a city of creative arts; film exhibition "Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975" with 300 precious documentary photos, community film screenings on the evenings of April 27 and 28 at Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke stage.

The special art program “National Reunification Day” was broadcast live nationwide at the Reunification Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with many attractive performances demonstrating the significance, greatness and great value of the Great Spring Victory in 1975. According to tourism statistics, the city has about 62,000 hotel rooms that are eligible for business (not including other accommodation business groups).

On peak nights, when many cultural and artistic activities are held (April 19 and 27), hotel rooms are also full. People are also unable to access areas within the blockade area such as Le Van Tam Park, Tao Dan Park, and April 30 Park.
