Regarding the incident in which Son Hai Group filed a complaint to the police about the vandalism of signs constructed by this contractor on the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway, public opinion continued to have many opinions. On social networks, many people said: "Is this a "trick" of the enterprise to create an image and polish the brand?".

When a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper asked about the above issue, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Son Hai Group Company Limited affirmed: "This is not a way for businesses to polish their reputation."

"Previously, when the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway was completed, Son Hai Group reported to the Ministry of Transport about its commitment to a 10-year warranty for the scope of work assigned to the unit.

After receiving the document from the corporation, the Ministry has assigned this issue to the investor to handle. We have also worked with the investor," Mr. Hai said, adding that the 10-year warranty information has been posted on signs along the route for more than a year now.

In fact, we want to ensure our reputation when we have committed to the Ministry of Transport; At the same time, it is also a form of publicity for people to monitor.

According to the Chairman of Son Hai Group, when the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway was put into operation, the Son Hai section under construction had a phenomenon of chemical spillage, affecting the quality of the construction structure.

To heighten our vigilance, we have increased patrols along the route. The removal of the 10-year sign was discovered by the company's surveillance department on October 26 and recorded on October 29.

From the previous incident, we thought there was a saboteur and did not think the highway management agency directed the implementation until reading the information in Giao thong Newspaper.

"In case we put up signs that do not comply with current regulations, the management agencies need to have a written request for handling or guidance on appropriate adjustments. I confirm that before the signs had the 10-year warranty removed, the business had not received any notice from the authorities. If we had known that the removal of the words on the signs was done by Road Management Area II, we would not have filed a complaint with the police," Mr. Hai confided.

Previously, speaking with Giao thong Newspaper, a representative of Road Management Office II.1 (Road Management Area II - the state management agency of the expressway) confirmed that there was no one who vandalized the signs constructed by this contractor on the Nghi Son - Dien Chau expressway.

According to the representative of the management agency, the removal of the words "Son Hai Group guarantees 10 years" was carried out by the Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Corporation (Vidifi - the unit assigned to manage and maintain regularly) under the direction of the State Acceptance Council and the Vietnam Road Administration.

"The project design documents approved by competent authorities as well as the completion documents for the signboard item do not have such content and design.

When the State Acceptance Council inspected in mid-2024, it requested Project Management Board 6 (representing the investor) to direct the construction contractor to repair and fix the problem in accordance with the design documents, but then the parties did not do so.

Since August 20, the road has been officially handed over for use. The II Highway Management Area has also requested Project Management Board 6 to direct the contractor to repair and fix the existing signs.

However, by the end of October, the Board and the contractor still did not fix the problem, forcing the Zone to request the management unit to regularly maintain and immediately repair signs that do not match the design documents, signs with advertising text that does not meet standards to ensure traffic safety," said a representative of the management agency.
