In order to continue helping disadvantaged households, in 2025, Mu Cang Chai district will rebuild and repair 771 houses for poor, near-poor households and meritorious people. Of these, 616 houses will be rebuilt and 147 houses will be repaired with a total cost of more than 41.3 billion VND; eight houses will be built for meritorious people and policy families with a total cost of more than 400 million VND. Nam Co commune has 1,746 households, of which 965 are poor households, accounting for more than 55%. In 2025, the commune was assigned to eliminate 109 houses for poor households, of which 103 were new houses and six were repaired. To ensure the elimination of houses for the right households, the commune proactively reviewed carefully and clearly defined responsibilities for the households; in addition, it directed the Party committee members in charge of the villages to directly urge and help households choose suitable materials to build houses to ensure compliance with requirements and time schedule. According to statistics, by early March 2025, the commune had more than 20 houses started construction, of which two were completed.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Che Cu Nha Giang A Ly commune said: The commune has organized a conference and established a steering committee, assigning specific tasks to each cadre directly in charge of each household on the approved list to build houses in 2025. "Three together" cadres - directly go to the households to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of the people in the process of rebuilding new houses; know the source of funding, how many workers are needed, build wooden houses or brick houses... so that the commune can have solutions to implement. Currently, in the commune, 25/48 households supported to build houses have started construction, two houses have been completed, helping people have new houses to stabilize their lives and focus on economic development.
It is known that Yen Bai province still has more than 2,200 households living in temporary and dilapidated houses. In the coming time, the province will support all these households to repair and rebuild their houses, with a support level of 60 million VND to build new houses and 30 million VND for each repaired house. Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh said: Currently, localities have simultaneously implemented the province's policy on eliminating temporary houses. Up to now, the province has basically arranged enough capital to complete the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses before August 2025. Some localities will be determined to complete it in April 2025, because Yen Bai's characteristics make it difficult to implement during the rainy and flood months, especially in the highland districts of Tram Tau and Mu Cang Chai.
With the drastic participation of local authorities, the joint efforts of philanthropists and people, up to now, Yen Bai has 626/2,208 houses that have been renovated and repaired, of which 31 houses have been completed. From the positive results achieved, Yen Bai aims to complete the elimination of all dilapidated and temporary houses before August 30, contributing to bringing a better life to the people.
