Implementing the Party and State's policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, Ca Mau province set a target of completing the construction and repair of 4,400 new houses by the end of June 2025, with a budget of more than VND 235.8 billion. By March 21, 2025, Ca Mau province had started construction on 2,751 houses, completed 1,545 houses, with a total allocated budget of VND 155.6 billion, and disbursed VND 125.4 billion.
It is known that Ca Mau province is one of the localities implementing the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. To achieve results, Ca Mau province has mobilized the participation of the entire political system and the entire people.
With the spirit of “whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit to contribute, whoever has property to contribute, whoever has a lot to contribute a lot, whoever has little to contribute a little”, the province has launched a vibrant emulation movement throughout the province. At the same time, proactively mobilizing social resources in combination with State resources to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for local people.
In addition, Ca Mau province also focuses on innovating methods and approaches in the direction of diversifying resources, including resources from the central to local levels, mobilized resources, assistance from the community, relatives, etc., combined with mobilizing businesses, organizations, and individuals inside and outside the province to directly support localities with housing difficulties.
In particular, in recent times, many localities have had some good, creative and effective ways of implementing the project, such as reviewing and classifying subjects to assign responsibilities to each sector and individual in charge of the area. In addition, local officials directly accompany and support people in completing land procedures, contributing to ensuring the construction start time.

Mr. Tran Minh Nhan - Vice Chairman of Thoi Binh District People's Committee said: "The district has 725 houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Of which, 619 new houses were built, 106 houses were repaired, with a total cost of more than 40 billion VND. Since the program was launched, the district has implemented many synchronous solutions with the highest political determination to mobilize maximum social resources, along with the State budget to soon complete the proposed program.
The district has focused on promoting and mobilizing businesses, philanthropists, and benefactors to support housing construction costs for many families of people with revolutionary contributions, poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances. At the same time, it has mobilized the help of relatives and neighbors to contribute labor, effort, and even money to support households to have solid houses. To date, the district has mobilized nearly 1 billion VND to support households beyond the support quota under the program.
In addition to the efforts of local authorities, the contribution of resources from people and businesses is very important. Many households under the program have received additional funding from local businesses and philanthropists to build and repair their houses.
For example, Mr. Le Ngoc Hai (owner of Tan Bang Enterprise, Thoi Binh District) supported 20 million VND for the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hon, a near-poor household in Kinh 6 Hamlet, Tan Bang Commune, to build an additional roof at the back to make the house more spacious and cozy. In addition to housing support, Mr. Hai also supports many cases of illness or when the family has an emergency...
“Up to now, the Provincial Youth Union has directed the establishment of 95 youth volunteer teams to demolish temporary and dilapidated houses in the province with over 1,244 youth union members. Thereby, 912 houses have been built, including: Financial support, supporting people to dismantle old houses, build temporary houses, construction work, mobilizing necessities... with a total value of over 730 million VND and over 2,600 working days.
The Provincial Youth Union has mobilized and supported additional funding to build 19 new houses and repair 8 houses in addition to the support budget in the program, so that people can have more spacious houses," said Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thuan - Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union.
