Mr. Cu Van Binh, Tan Phong town, Quang Xuong district, was hired by JMJ Apparel Company Limited and now has a stable income.

Discouraged, helpless, even desperate... Those were the feelings of Mr. Cu Van Binh in Tan Phong town, Quang Xuong district when he tried to find a job after completing his prison sentence. There was a time when he thought he would have to give up and let life push him around, but fortunately he was bailed out by the police and introduced to work at JMJ Apparel Co., Ltd. in Tan Phong town, Quang Xuong district. The job did not require a degree, but he was trained, guided, and guaranteed all the benefits and salary like other ordinary workers. For Mr. Binh, this was truly an opportunity to start his life over again.

Mr. Binh shared: "When I came to work here, I always received attention and encouragement from the Company's leaders. There was no discrimination. Everyone was equal. The salary here is about 7 - 8 million/month, which is stable compared to the standard of living here. I was even supported with a motorbike to go to work, so I really feel lucky to have found a job like this."

Not only Mr. Binh, currently, JMJ Apparel Company Limited has 6 employees who have criminal records returning to their hometown. Overcoming prejudice, the business owner believes that accompanying and helping those who have made mistakes must come from a good heart and demonstrate the business's responsibility to the community and society.

Ms. Cao Thi Diep, Director of JMJ Apparel Co., Ltd. said: "We believe that the important issue is how we manage the workers after receiving them. The company's leaders and I often stay close to encourage and support the workers' families to have more capital to stabilize their family finances in order to better accompany people with criminal records."

Like JMJ Apparel Co., Ltd., Hoang Hoa District Business Association is also one of the addresses where many people with past mistakes come to get support and help in finding a legitimate job that suits their abilities and circumstances. According to statistics, currently in Hoang Hoa District, there are 256 people in the community reintegration category, of which 158 have temporarily stabilized their lives.

Over the years, the Hoang Hoa District Police force has promoted its core role, proactively coordinated with the district Party Committee and government to develop the model of "Enterprises with community reintegration work" to mobilize maximum cooperation from all levels, sectors and the entire population, especially the team of enterprises and entrepreneurs to participate in community reintegration work. Thereby, it has created the best conditions to support and help those who have completed their prison sentences to overcome their inferiority complex, reintegrate into the community, find stable jobs, and become useful citizens for their families and society.

The police force propagates and mobilizes business owners to help ex-offenders find stable jobs.

In particular, since August 2023, after the Prime Minister signed and issued Decision 22 on credit for people who have completed their sentences, Hoang Hoa district has focused on implementing it. Up to now, the police force and the district's Social Policy Bank have reviewed and implemented a loan program for 33 cases of people who have completed their prison sentences and returned to their localities with a total disbursement of nearly 3 billion VND. From this source of capital, many people with a bad past have had the opportunity to return to learn a trade, invest in production, business, find jobs, and have a stable income, many of whom have risen to become households with a good economic income.

Mr. Le Kha Toan in Dong Anh Vinh village, Hoang Thinh commune, Hoang Hoa district shared: "When I first returned to my hometown, I encountered many difficulties, self-consciousness, and inferiority complex with people around me. With the regular encouragement, help, and guidance from the commune police officers to borrow capital, my wife and children continued the bamboo and rattan weaving profession to build a life. In order not to let everyone down, I always try my best. Up to now, my family's life is quite stable."

Similarly, the model of "Enterprises with community reintegration work" in Nhu Xuan district is one of the efforts of the Party Committee, government and functional forces to solve the problems of finding reintegration jobs for people who have completed their prison sentences, thereby reducing the rate of recidivism in the area.

As one of those who have just completed a 2-year prison sentence for intentionally causing injury and returned to their hometown, Mr. Luong Van Thuong, born in 1975 in Xuan Binh commune, Nhu Xuan district, like many other people who have made mistakes, "stumbled" on the biggest obstacle in the journey of reintegrating into the community, which is finding a job. While he was struggling to find a way to make a living, Mr. Thuong was introduced and sponsored by the police force and the Party Committee and government of Nhu Xuan district to work as a worker at the wood chip production and processing factory for export of Nhat Duong Company. With his diligence and active work, he now has a stable salary of 15 million VND/month.

Connecting people who have completed their prison sentences with businesses that need to recruit workers is one of the important solutions that the Thanh Hoa Police force has been implementing to maximize the effectiveness of the role and responsibility of the business community in reintegrating into the community. In the period of 2023-2024 alone, in Thanh Hoa province, more than 200 people who have completed their prison sentences have been consulted, introduced to jobs and received workers by agencies, departments, branches and businesses to stabilize their lives. In addition, 366 people who have completed their prison sentences have had access to loans from the Social Policy Bank with an amount of nearly 33 billion VND to start a business.

This is the result of the efforts of all levels, sectors, businesses and the police force so that those who have completed their prison sentences can soon reintegrate into the community and rebuild their lives.
