On August 27, at Ninh Binh Provincial Stadium, two matches took place within the framework of the final round of the Ninh Binh Provincial PT-TH Cup Children's Football Tournament 2023 between Tam Diep - Gia Vien; Yen Mo - Nho Quan.
The bronze medal match between Nho Quan and Yen Mo was intense. Both teams were determined to defeat their opponents. In the match, Nho Quan with a taller, more evenly-built and better-quality squad dominated Yen Mo players who were short and technical. After two rounds, Nho Quan won the match with a score of 2-0.
The match between Tam Diep and Gia Vien in the final was quite exciting. In the first half, Gia Vien was the team that opened the score first in the 6th minute. However, Tam Diep, with their close play and persistent ball fighting, succeeded with 2 goals after that.
Victory seemed certain for Tam Diep, but surprisingly in the last minutes, player number 8 Hoang Duc Kien unexpectedly leveled the score 2-2 for Gia Vien, bringing the match back to balance. The two teams were forced to go through a penalty shootout.
The match ended in a penalty shootout, with Tam Diep winning 4-3. With this victory, Tam Diep is the champion of the 2023 season.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the best player award to the Nho Quan team player with 7 goals; the best goalkeeper award to the Gia Vien team goalkeeper; and the style award to the Yen Mo children's football team.
Third prize was awarded to Nho Quan team; Second prize to Gia Vien team and first prize to Tam Diep city children's football team. The first prize winning team also received the Cup and Flag from the Organizing Committee.
The Ninh Binh Provincial PT-TH Cup Children's Football Tournament 2023 is a traditional tournament held annually for teenagers and children. The tournament is highly competitive and has professional prestige, creating a playground for teenagers and children during the summer, encouraging the movement of practicing football at the grassroots level.
The tournament is also a practical activity to celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
