[Photo series] Candidates prepare seriously and concentrate to complete the exam

After the Opening Ceremony held on September 23 at the Ba Ria campus of the Petroleum College (PV College), the 8th Petroleum Skills Competition 2024, organized by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), has officially entered the second day of competition. In this profession, there are 11 candidates from the following units: PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS); PetroVietnam Technical Services Joint Stock Corporation (PTSC); PetroVietnam Drilling and Drilling Services Joint Stock Corporation (PV Drilling). Candidates will design products related to promoting Vung Tau tourism such as: logo, standee, backdrop,... The exam time is 8 hours (2 sessions).

Mr. Le Cam Hoang Tuan - Ca Mau Gas Company (PV GAS Ca Mau) shared that the contestants participating in the contest all had serious preparations. Because graphic design is a contest that requires expressing design ideas, everyone was highly focused.

The Automation profession has the most contestants with 55 contestants. To ensure the contest is effective, the Organizing Committee will divide it into 4 shifts/day, each shift has 4 contestants.

In this part of the exam, candidates will perform wire connection techniques, cable termination; control valve calibration methods, configuration settings, temperature measuring device calibration parameters; connection to create a complete control loop connected to the control system. Then use the control system to check the operation of the devices in the system.

During the exam, there will be invigilators on duty to assist candidates when necessary.

The profession of Oil and Gas Drilling Equipment Operator is the profession with the fewest candidates, with 10 candidates registering for the exam.

Before entering the official exam day, candidates are given a trial run to get familiar with the system and have their questions answered.

“Coming to this contest, I hope to gain more knowledge and exchange with colleagues from other units. I feel that my performance today was not very good. If I have the opportunity next time, I will try to do better,” said Mr. Le Anh Quan (from Vietsovpetro Joint Venture).

Candidates from Ha Tinh Oil and Gas Power Company (Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation - JSC) arrived very early to prepare carefully before taking the exam.

Candidates compete in the following occupations: Oil refinery operation, Thermal power plant operation, Oil and gas exploitation operation.

“This is my second time participating in the contest. Last time I won third prize, this time my goal is a gold medal. Yesterday, I competed in 2 rounds and got quite good results, today in the final round I hope to achieve the maximum score”, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tien Thanh (from PV GAS) shared. The 8th Oil and Gas Skills Competition takes place from September 23 to September 27, 2024. This year's competition has the participation of more than 280 contestants from 15 member units under Petrovietnam, carefully selected from the grassroots level and nominated by the units.
