Prepare well for the organization of the 2023 high school graduation exam

The 2023 high school graduation exam will be held from June 27 to 30, 2023. In order for the exam to take place safely, seriously, objectively, and to properly assess the quality of learners, these days, under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) continues to coordinate with departments, branches, and localities to strengthen preparations for the best conditions for the exam to take place smoothly, in accordance with regulations and meet the requirements.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Linh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: In order to improve the quality of the 2023 high school graduation exam, especially to improve the average score of the graduation exam subjects, right from the beginning of the school year, the Department of Education and Training has directed high schools to organize seminars to improve the quality of teaching and learning of 8 high school graduation exam subjects from the group level to the school level from October 7 to 9, 2022, thereby analyzing, evaluating, drawing lessons, and proposing solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning. For the Department of Education and Training, a provincial-level seminar was organized based on the report on the results of the seminars of schools on improving the quality of teaching and learning of 8 high school graduation exam subjects on October 12, 2022. After the seminar, a written notice of the conclusion was issued for schools to develop plans, assign tasks, and focus on implementing solutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning actively and effectively.

Schools have also paid attention to early implementation of review, training, and tutoring for 12th grade students with specific solutions, suitable for students in terms of learning capacity and subject selection, combining high school graduation exams with university admissions; directing professional groups and teachers to study high school graduation exams of each year, especially the sample exams of the Ministry of Education and Training to closely follow the content, structure, and level in the review process; organizing parent-teacher meetings, signing responsibilities in management, ensuring that review classes have stable numbers; paying attention to supporting and helping students in difficult circumstances, students with poor academic performance, etc.

To prepare well for the organization of the 2023 high school graduation exam, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training have also issued documents directing, guiding, and assigning specific tasks to members of the Steering Committee for the 2023 exams of the province, agencies, departments, branches at all levels and localities. Departments, branches, localities, media agencies, and educational institutions in the province have strengthened the work of propaganda, dissemination, and timely information on policies, regulations, thoroughly grasping the exam regulations, and organizing exam season consultation. Along with that, the Department of Education and Training has issued a decision to organize 2 inspection teams to prepare for the 2023 high school graduation exam at educational institutions. Organizing transportation, accommodation for officials, teachers, parents, and candidates to the locality to supervise, grade, and take the exam; mobilizing and supporting candidates who are children of poor households, remote areas, and candidates with disabilities; disease prevention; Ensuring security, safety, confidentiality... for all stages of the exam has been directed by the Provincial People's Committee to departments, branches, and localities to develop plans and implementation plans seriously and fully, ensuring the best conditions for organizing the exam.

Regarding the organization of exam registration, the information technology department of the Department of Education and Training has conducted training for staff and teachers to receive exam registration forms from students and enter data into the national high school exam management software system of the Ministry of Education and Training. Schools assign specific tasks to members, organize detailed instructions for students in the process of completing exam registration forms and high school graduation recognition registration forms; pay attention to guiding and supporting students to register for exams online on the common software of the Ministry of Education and Training; organize the collection of high school graduation recognition registration files; check, review, supplement, and adjust to ensure the accuracy of student information and data, especially exams, exam subjects, grade 12 average scores, reserved scores, priority and incentive status, university admission registration, etc.; at the same time, arrange scientific records to serve the inspection and comparison work.

In the 2023 high school graduation exam, the whole province has 6,121 candidates registered to take the exam; of which, there are 5,557 candidates from high school, 394 candidates from continuing education and 170 independent candidates. The province has arranged 17 exam sites with 259 exam rooms and 27 waiting rooms. The number of personnel working on the exam is expected to be about 1,000 people. In order to guide, support and assist candidates, contributing to ensuring the exam takes place safely and seriously, creating the most favorable conditions for candidates, the Provincial Youth Union has also developed a plan and organized the Launching Ceremony of the program "Supporting the exam season" in 2023 on the morning of June 27, 2023, with activities to support candidates such as: Information consultation; mobilizing support for drinking water and snacks; organizing activities to introduce free accommodation, cheap and safe motels and cheap places to eat, ensuring food hygiene and safety for candidates and their families; Support the transportation of candidates from far away to the examination site; organize volunteer teams to guide and direct traffic to ensure traffic safety at examination sites; implement free transportation activities for candidates in special circumstances, remote areas, and candidates with disabilities...

The preparation for the 2023 high school graduation exam is being seriously and fully implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with departments, branches and localities, and has been recognized and highly appreciated by the working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training led by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh. With the spirit of seeking knowledge, ensuring the best conditions to organize the 2023 high school graduation exam safely, seriously, objectively, and properly assessing the quality of learners, at the working session with the working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training on June 8, on behalf of the Steering Committee for the 2023 provincial exams, comrade Phan Tan Canh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the comments of the members of the working delegation, especially the direction and close attention of Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh in preparing and organizing the 2023 high school graduation exam in the province to continue to direct, inspect, and review to better prepare for all aspects to successfully organize the exam.
