Competition format:
The 4 teams with the highest results in the Group Stage (as of the 7th week of competition) will compete in the Double Elimination format. Specifically:
1st Place: Team Secret (TS)
2nd place: GAM Esports (GAM)
3rd place: Team Whales (TW)
4th place: Vikings Esports (VKE)
The top team in the group stage (TS) will have priority in choosing the opponent in the first match, specifically the 3rd ranked team (TW) or the 4th ranked team (VKE).
New exam format
The first two matches (match codes P1, P2) will be played in the Best of 3 format (the team that wins 2 games first will win) and the remaining matches will be played in the Best of 5 format (the team that wins 3 games first will win).
Along with this change in competition format, teams participating in the Final Round will also have time to add new members to meet the minimum number of members required by the tournament regulations.
Yesterday, the VCS Organizing Committee released a list of 32 individuals who have temporarily suspended their competition and competition management activities, although the final results have not been released yet. The information that 32 individuals are suspected of being involved in the scandal has surprised fans because many of them have played very well and had many achievements in the past.
Immediately after the announcement, VKE was the first team to post a recruitment post to replace their 4 banned players. Meanwhile, the remaining 3 teams, GAM, Team Whales and TS, have yet to provide any further information.
