According to VNA special correspondent, on the afternoon of September 30, within the framework of his State visit to Mongolia, General Secretary and President To Lam met with Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene in the capital Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

In an atmosphere of friendship, cordiality and trust, the two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the development of Vietnam-Mongolia relations and were delighted that the two sides had agreed to upgrade the relationship to a “Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership” on the occasion of General Secretary and President To Lam’s State visit to Mongolia this time.

The two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen political trust through maintaining the exchange of high-level and all-level delegations in various flexible forms; promote substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation, thereby creating a shift in economic, trade and investment cooperation; further promote the role of the Vietnam-Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee mechanism, contributing to promoting substantive and effective cooperation in the economic fields of the two countries; actively organize and mobilize enterprises to participate in trade promotion programs and trade connections in each country, thereby promoting stable growth in trade cooperation; at the same time, promote people-to-people, cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries; promote deeper cooperation in the fields of labor, science and technology, information and communications.

For his part, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated Mr. Oyun-Erdene on his re-appointment as Prime Minister of Mongolia; conveyed the regards of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the invitation for the Mongolian Prime Minister to visit Vietnam; highly appreciated the achievements that the Government and people of Mongolia have achieved in recent times, especially the successful implementation of the "New Recovery Policy" and the implementation of the "Government Action Program for the 2024-2028 term"; thereby contributing to the development of Mongolia, its people's prosperity and happiness, becoming one of the leading developed countries in the region.

General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of attaching importance to cooperative relations with Mongolia and wishing to promote the development of bilateral relations in an increasingly substantive, effective and long-term manner, in accordance with the interests, potential and cooperation needs of both countries.

The General Secretary and President highly appreciated the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Party for signing a new cooperation memorandum, thereby creating a foundation to promote relations between the two parties in the coming time.

On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam, on behalf of the Government and People of Vietnam, thanked the Government and People of Mongolia for supporting 200,000 USD for the people of the North to overcome the damage caused by the recent storm No. 3 (international name: Yagi).

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene expressed his deepest gratitude to the senior leaders of Vietnam for their special affection for the country and people of Mongolia; welcomed the State visit to Mongolia by General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam; highly appreciated the significance and importance of the visit for the development of bilateral relations; congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements, its increasingly important position and role in the region and the world; affirmed that strengthening comprehensive and extensive cooperation with Vietnam is a top priority in Mongolia's foreign policy in the region.

Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene wishes to further strengthen and expand cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of politics, defense, security, economics-trade, education, science and technology, transportation, logistics, culture, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchange, as well as at multilateral forums and mechanisms commensurate with the comprehensive partnership./.
