Focus on comprehensive development of all areas in Vietnam-Bangladesh relations and cooperation

NDO - On the morning of August 15, at the Presidential Palace, during a meeting with Ms. Samina Naz, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh, who came to bid farewell at the end of her term in Vietnam, President Vo Van Thuong said: Vietnam and Bangladesh have many similarities, especially in economic development. The two countries both attach importance to attracting foreign investment based on abundant human resources. This is a common point for the two sides to increase sharing and cooperation. In addition, Bangladesh has many areas of strength that Vietnam wishes to cooperate and learn from.

Also attending the reception was the Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai. At the reception, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated Ambassador Samina Naz on her successful completion of her 6-year tenure in Vietnam and highly appreciated her positive and effective contributions to deepening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Bangladesh in recent times. Through the Ambassador, President Vo Van Thuong respectfully sent his regards to Bangladeshi President Mohammed Shahabuddin. Ambassador Samina Naz expressed her honor and joy to be received by President Vo Van Thuong; respectfully sent the President greetings and regards from the President of Bangladesh. Expressing her admiration and joy at Vietnam's important achievements in socio-economic development in recent years, and Vietnam's position being constantly enhanced in the region and the world, Ambassador Samina Naz said that Bangladesh always attaches importance to, follows and learns from Vietnam's development experience. In addition, recent delegation exchanges are important factors promoting bilateral relations between the two countries... The Ambassador shared her admiration for Vietnam's leaders and believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the country and people of Vietnam will continue to achieve even greater achievements in the future. Ms. Samina Naz shared that she will always keep good images and feelings about Vietnam; wishing to become a Goodwill Ambassador of Vietnam in any future work. Respecting and thanking Ambassador Samina Naz for her good feelings and assessments, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that Vietnam and Bangladesh have a long-standing traditional relationship. Bangladesh is one of the countries in the South Asian region that established diplomatic relations with Vietnam early, 50 years ago. Currently, there is still much room for cooperation between the two countries, so the two sides need to continue to strengthen cooperation in the coming time, especially exchanging delegations at high and all levels to promote comprehensive cooperation.

President Vo Van Thuong wished Bangladesh a successful general election, thereby further promoting cooperation with Vietnam in all areas, especially trade and investment; striving to achieve the trade turnover target of 2 billion USD sooner than expected; and promoting exchanges in other areas.

The President suggested that the two countries continue to support each other at regional and international multilateral forums. Vietnam supports the strengthening of relations between Bangladesh and ASEAN based on each side's strengths. President Vo Van Thuong believes that, regardless of his position, the Ambassador will continue to have good feelings for the country and people of Vietnam, always be a close friend, and constantly contribute to and foster the relationship between Vietnam and Bangladesh.
