Queue to buy bread
"Every time I open a branch, I have trouble selling cakes... because there are too many customers," said Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc (Gia Lam, Hanoi) when she decided to sell Korean cheese coin cakes.
10 won or 10 yen coin-shaped cakes are currently causing a fever among young people in Korea and Japan.

Since its introduction to Vietnam, the appeal of this type of cake has shown no signs of cooling down. Young Vietnamese people are willing to queue for hours to buy these coin-shaped cakes.
The image of a golden brown cake that breaks in half and reveals long cheese strands has received special attention from young people. Because of these attractive viral images, many people are trying to find ways to hunt for coin cakes. The price of the cake ranges from 25,000 to 45,000 VND/cake, depending on the different types of fillings.
When the cakes "took the world by storm" in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Ngoc's passion for baking arose. With 4 years of experience in managing a bakery, and an endless passion for the job, she "got right into it".
"I have twins who love cheese-related dishes. That's why I always research many types of cakes to make for them. And when I came across this cheese coin cake, I loved it right away," said Ms. Ngoc.

After getting the cake maker, she continued to experiment and experiment with the most delicious and attractive cake recipe. Each cake is about 10cm in diameter, the crust is baked golden on both sides, the taste is similar to egg tarts and the aroma of vanilla. In the middle of the cake is a thick layer of cheese filling, which can be pulled into long strands.
The first bakery she chose was in an urban area in Gia Lam (Hanoi). After putting up a sign and posting on local community groups, a steady stream of curious customers came to enjoy the food.
"I am the first seller in this area. Therefore, I always listen to the opinions of every customer who comes to enjoy the products. Besides, I always research new cake recipes, suitable for the needs of my customers," Ngoc shared.

Through her experience, she found this cake to be appealing, but also easy to get bored of because of its high fat content. Therefore, many people tend to follow the trend and only try it once.
To retain customers, she added many new ingredients, different from the original version such as salted eggs, corn, sausage, pork floss...
These changes have attracted a lot of people to support the shop. On rainy days, as well as late at night, many people still patiently stand in line to buy cakes.
With the success of the first location, she continued to open many other branches selling cakes with a stable number of customers. Revenue from selling cakes reached 30-40 million VND/day.
Struggling to find an attractive cake recipe
To have two bustling cheese coin cake shops like today, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen (Ha Dong, Hanoi) also had to work hard to research the formula, creating delicious, quality cakes.
On average, she sells about 1,500 cakes per day, equivalent to a revenue of more than 50 million VND.
Up to now, these two cake shops have been operating for 10 days. She is a businesswoman, especially loves to make "hot trend" items (create trends), loved by many young people.

Every person who buys, enjoys, and takes pictures with the cake and posts them on social media will create a very good effect for the business. At the time of ordering the machine, Ms. Tuyen had to pay an expensive fee, up to 7 million VND.
The machine comes with a recipe for making cakes. However, according to this woman, if you follow the available recipe, the cake will not taste good. Therefore, she had to search, experience, feel the taste of the cake, and experiment to have the most complete recipe.
At that time, in Hanoi, there was only one bakery in the Old Quarter, and many people stopped by to enjoy it. "I had to queue for more than an hour to buy a cheese coin cake here to experience it," Ms. Tuyen shared.
After direct experience, she started to create her own cake recipe. To have the current recipe, the owner had to throw away a batch of unsatisfactory cakes at least 10 times.

Ms. Tuyen shared: "I want customers to not only eat once but also come back. That forces me to make it delicious and of high quality. I decided to make the cake base high, full of cheese, attractive."
On the opening day, at around 4:20 p.m., she posted a product introduction on her personal page, 40 minutes before opening time. The store attracted the attention of customers from the very first days.
"Customers kept buying one after another. Each facility had four employees working, the machines worked non-stop until midnight," Ms. Tuyen happily said.
