Yoshihiro Hidaka, president of Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha Motor, was stabbed by his daughter at his home in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, around 3 a.m. Monday (Japan time), the Japan Times reported. Fortunately, Mr. Hidaka suffered only minor injuries.
Yamaha brand was founded on October 12, 1887.
Shizuoka Prefectural Police arrested Hana, 33, on suspicion of attempted murder. The woman was unemployed and lived with her father.
Hana is accused of deliberately killing her 61-year-old father by slashing his left arm with a kitchen knife.
Police rushed to the home after receiving an emergency call from Hana, who said her father had been beaten. It is not yet clear whether Hana has admitted to the attempted murder charges.
Previously, at 5:30 p.m. on September 15, Ms. Hana also called the police to report being beaten by the President of Yamaha Motor.
On the contrary, according to the Tokyo Reporter news site, Mr. Yoshihiro said he was slashed by his daughter while he was sleeping.
Yamaha Motor said it would not comment on the incident as it was a private matter and the investigation was ongoing.
Mr. Yoshihiro Hidaka has been serving as CEO, President and Representative Director of Yamaha Motor since 2018.
