Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his emotion when coming here to offer flowers, and at the same time thanked the Montreuil city government and the leaders of the Living History Museum for bringing the opportunity for overseas Vietnamese in France, French and international friends to have a deeper understanding of President Ho Chi Minh.
"He always carried within himself a strong will and deep love for his people, always nurturing the desire for "freedom for his compatriots, independence for the Fatherland", he joined the working people and the struggle movement of French communists and workers for independence, freedom, equality, and fraternity" - Mr. Do Van Chien said.
For his part, Mr. Taylan Coskun, Politburo member in charge of resources and relations with Vietnam (French Communist Party) expressed his honor to welcome the delegations and senior leaders of Vietnam to offer incense at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and visit the Ho Chi Minh Space.
"We bow our heads in memory of President Ho Chi Minh, this is also part of our duty to memory. We always firmly follow in the footsteps of President Ho Chi Minh: Calling for the struggle for peace and friendship.
"Today we affirm our solidarity and friendship with Vietnam as well as support the struggle to ensure compliance with international law and peace in the world," said Mr. Taylan Coskun.
After the flower offering ceremony, comrade Do Van Chien, leading the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, visited the Ho Chi Minh Space located in the campus of the Living History Museum.
On the same day, Mr. Do Van Chien had a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese community in France. Representatives of a number of associations such as the France-Vietnam Friendship Association (AAFV), the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts Global (AVSE Global)... spoke, expressing their dedication to the homeland in promoting economic cooperation and innovation, and at the same time hoping that the state would continue to pay more attention to the overseas Vietnamese community.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front listened to the thoughts, aspirations and contributions of overseas Vietnamese. On this occasion, Mr. Do Van Chien also reported on the main features of the socio-economic development situation in the country, highlighting bright spots in economic growth as well as updating new policies of the Party and State.
Mr. Do Van Chien expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community in France will continue to unite and participate in promoting the Vietnam-France cooperation relationship in all fields, especially in economics, culture, science and technology and people-to-people exchange, making the strategic partnership between the two countries increasingly stronger, more substantial and more effective.
