Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung works with Eni Vietnam Company

Implementing the investment promotion program of Quang Tri province in 2024, yesterday, October 3, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Quang Tri province delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung had a working session with Eni Vietnam Company.

At the meeting, CEO of Eni Vietnam Giacomo Spadini informed about the business development activities of the enterprise as well as cooperation activities in exploitation and exploration at sea in recent times; plans to implement activities on energy conversion, clean stoves for the community, and sustainable forestry development with Quang Tri province.

In addition, Eni Vietnam Company also requested Quang Tri province to soon complete related procedures to sign an extension of the memorandum of understanding to implement activities as soon as possible.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung informed about the socio -economic development situation of the province, especially the major orientations as well as the progress of implementing important technical infrastructure projects serving the cooperation with Eni Vietnam Company such as My Thuy seaport project, Quang Tri airport, coastal road connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, and developing National Highway 15D.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Eni Vietnam Company to continue to coordinate with the province to implement activities to promote sustainable forest use and increase forest carbon reserves; support Quang Tri in building a number of livelihood development models for people living near forests, prioritizing the development of medicinal plant cultivation under natural forest canopy associated with biodiversity conservation and bringing common benefits to the local community.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested Eni Vietnam Company to soon have a plan to implement the contents of expanding the scope of the memorandum of understanding, including initiatives on energy crops and utilizing agricultural, industrial and forestry by-products to use as raw materials for the bio-refinery.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung also invited the Executive Director of Eni Vietnam Company to visit and work with Quang Tri province to sign an extension of the memorandum of understanding and discuss the cooperation program in the coming time. The Executive Director of Eni Vietnam Company happily accepted the invitation and arranged to visit Quang Tri at a suitable time.
