On the morning of April 3, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung chaired a regular meeting to assess the implementation of socio-economic tasks in the first quarter of 2025 and direct a number of key tasks in April and the second quarter .
The report at the meeting showed that by the end of the first quarter, the total product in the area - GRDP increased by 10.2% compared to the same period last year. Specifically: the added value of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector increased by over 4%, contributing 0.46 percentage points to the overall growth rate of the entire economy . The industrial - construction sector increased by 13.5%, of which the industrial sector continued to be a bright spot with an increase of over 17%, contributing 4.55 percentage points. The service sector increased by over 10%, contributing 3.82 percentage points to the overall growth of the entire economy.
Some key manufacturing and processing industries contributed, such as: motor vehicle production increased by over 21%, production of prefabricated metal products increased by over 51%. Mining increased by over 21%. Notably, construction activities faced difficulties because the first quarter coincided with the long Lunar New Year holiday, so construction activities mainly focused on key projects, transitional projects, with few new projects starting.
The service sector continued to record positive growth, supply and demand of essential goods were ensured, and purchasing and consumption activities increased significantly. Some large service sectors also recorded stable growth.
The highlight of the assessment of Quang Nam's socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2025 is the disbursement of public investment capital. As of March 28, Quang Nam's disbursement of the 2025 public investment capital plan had only reached 6.5%. This level is too low compared to the disbursement target for the year. Along with that, the budget revenue in the area in the first quarter also decreased by 4% compared to the same period.
