Here, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy and the provincial working delegation inspected the Son My 1 Industrial Park project on site. Immediately after the inspection, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee also chaired a meeting to listen to relevant parties report on the progress of the Son My 1 Industrial Park project.



It is known that the Son My 1 Industrial Park project was approved by the Prime Minister in late 2017 and was granted an Investment Registration Certificate by the Binh Thuan Industrial Park Management Board in early 2018. This project has a scale of 1,070 hectares, invested by Son My Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment, Construction and Business Joint Stock Company (IPICO Company). After being allocated land for the first time by the Provincial People's Committee, the investor of Son My 1 Industrial Park infrastructure completed the construction permit procedures and organized the groundbreaking ceremony at the end of August 2022.
In the past time, compensation and clearance work at Son My 1 Industrial Park has also been focused on, especially in the priority area with an area of about 375.57 ha/1,070 ha according to the land use plan of the Industrial Park until 2025. Up to now, the inventory has been conducted, the legality has been considered, approved by the Compensation, Support and Resettlement Council and the compensation and support plan has been approved for many cases of households and organizations whose land has been recovered... For the remaining area (more than 600 ha), Ham Tan district has issued a notice of land recovery, carried out an inventory and transferred the legality review. Meanwhile, the works outside the fence serving Son My 1 Industrial Park are also implementing some steps related to the Son My Resettlement Area project phase 1, investing in water supply pipelines for this Industrial Park.



However, according to the Management Board of Binh Thuan Industrial Parks, the compensation and clearance work at Son My 1 Industrial Park is still slow and does not meet the requirements, the investment in the Son My resettlement area has not been completed. The implementation of financial obligations for the area assigned by the Provincial People's Committee in the first phase has not been agreed upon by the relevant departments to guide the investor in implementation... Therefore, it has recommended to consider and resolve difficulties and obstacles to remove and speed up the progress of the Son My 1 Industrial Park project, promptly hand over land for a series of gas - electricity projects as well as complete the compensation and clearance work and organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Son My resettlement area phase 1 in the near future...
At the meeting, representatives of relevant departments, units, localities and investors also participated in discussions and proposed solutions to promptly overcome existing shortcomings and limitations in the past time. Especially regarding compensation and site clearance, thereby contributing to speeding up the progress of land allocation according to the set timeline.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy said that the Son My 1 Industrial Park project is of great significance, but the progress of implementation is still slow. Therefore, he requested relevant departments, units and localities in the coming time to strictly implement the instructions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee on the related contents that have been worked on before.
Ham Tan district needs to do a good job of propagating and mobilizing people about the importance of investing in infrastructure of Son My 1 Industrial Park as well as the projects of Son My 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant, Son My 2 Thermal Power Plant, Son My LNG Port Warehouse for the local socio -economic development. With specialized departments, actively coordinate and support investors to handle some outstanding issues, especially regarding compensation, site clearance, land rental fees, etc.
The investor needs to prepare funds and focus on and coordinate well with the District People's Committee and the Ham Tan District Land Fund Development Center to speed up compensation and site clearance for the Son My 1 Industrial Park project. The Binh Thuan Industrial Park Management Board is assigned to continue to be the focal point, monitor and urge the implementation and promptly report and advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct the resolution of the contents mentioned at this meeting.
