Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung gave a speech at the meeting.

Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy and leaders of departments, branches and localities attended. The meeting was held in both in-person and online formats.

At the meeting, localities reported on the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported on the situation and preparations for organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The Department of Science and Technology reported on the current status and implementation of e-government, meeting the needs of digital transformation; building a data connection system, connecting between grassroots and provincial authorities; digitizing documents. The Department of Home Affairs prepared a report on the progress of implementing the Project on rearranging commune-level administrative units.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung emphasized that the province pays great attention to gratitude activities and taking care of policy families. Although the province still faces many difficulties, it still allocates financial resources to care for and show gratitude to previous generations of fathers and ancestors who, together with the people, sacrificed their blood and efforts to regain independence and freedom for the nation, bringing a prosperous, happy and developed life to the country as it is today.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province Ho Van Mung requested agencies, units, departments, branches, and localities to carefully organize meetings, commemorative ceremonies, visits to martyrs' cemeteries, and art programs; focus on gratitude activities, organize well the care and visits to policy families... In particular, focus on visual, diverse, rich, and multi-form propaganda about the meaning of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day; the development of An Giang province, people's lives... on mass media.

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung also requested that the military, police, border guards and localities increase combat readiness, have solutions to prevent and handle situations that may arise. He requested that localities organize well recreational activities at tourist areas and spots during the upcoming April 30 and May 1 holidays; have solutions to strengthen security and order at tourist areas and spots; at the same time, strengthen food hygiene and safety inspections... to ensure safety for people. The Department of Industry and Trade strengthens coordination with relevant departments and branches to inspect counterfeit goods, strictly handle goods and violations related to people's health.

In directing the work of arranging administrative units, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested the Department of Home Affairs and advisory agencies to fully prepare contents and documents to send to the Government within the prescribed time; coordinate with Kien Giang province to prepare to complete the project of arranging provincial-level administrative units.

Regarding the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee commended the units and localities that have been very active in the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. At the same time, he requested that localities and units must complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services before April 30, 2025; complete all programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses before June 30, 2025. He requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to advise the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Provincial Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to organize a preliminary summary of phase 1 and commend and reward individuals and groups in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung assigned the Department of Finance to prepare for the Conference on disbursement of public investment capital, and at the same time requested departments, branches and localities to strengthen solutions to improve disbursement of public investment capital. Provincial working groups will strengthen inspections; localities will strengthen coordination in site clearance to speed up disbursement of public investment capital. Assign the Department of Finance to coordinate with the Provincial Project Management Board and localities to propose to the Provincial People's Committee that projects from after April 30 to before May 19 will be simultaneously started for new projects in localities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung requested departments, branches and localities to further strengthen the work of handling petitions according to regulations; properly resolve recommendations and difficulties of enterprises. The provincial police advised the provincial People's Committee to issue a plan for each locality to have 20% of communes and wards free of drugs. At the same time, strengthen solutions to ensure political security, social order and safety, especially traffic safety; promptly overcome black spots in traffic safety in the province.
