Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee Hoang Thanh Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam - Australia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Le Thu Ha.
The delegation included: Mr. Kevin Hogan, Member of Parliament, Shadow Minister for Trade and Tourism ; Ms. Anne Urquhart, Senator; Ms. Le Thi Trang Dai, Australian Member of Parliament of Vietnamese origin; Ms. Rachel Callinan, Secretary of the delegation; Ms. Nyat Mulugeta, Advisor; Ms. Harriet Brooke, Advisor.
Senator Sue Lines was born on December 15, 1953, in Western Australia.
Senator Sue Lines has represented Western Australia since 2013 and is President of the Senate from 2022.
She served as Vice President of the Senate and Chair of Committees from 2016 to 2022.
Sue Lines was the first female Labor Senate President and became the second female President, after Liberal Senator Margaret Reid, in 1996.

Ms. Sue Lines' first official visit to Vietnam as President of the Australian Senate took place in the context of the Vietnam - Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership developing well. The visit is of great significance, marking the more than 50-year journey of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries; contributing to deepening and further substantively strengthening the relationship between the two legislative bodies, making this relationship an important pillar in the Vietnam - Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, meeting the aspirations and practical interests of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
