National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue receives Samsung Group's Chief Financial Officer

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly supports and is ready to create a favorable legal corridor for investment, production and business activities of the domestic and foreign business community.

Receiving Samsung Group's Chief Financial Officer Park Hark Kyu on the evening of November 1, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue welcomed and expressed his pleasure to meet Mr. Park Hark Kyu again after the official visit to Korea by the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly in December 2021.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated Samsung Group on its business results in the first 9 months of 2023 with revenue of over 48 billion USD and exports of about 42 billion USD, reaching over 65% compared to the results in 2022; thereby, positively contributing to Vietnam's import-export turnover.

The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated Samsung Group's projects in Vietnam for their rapid disbursement progress, contributing to economic restructuring, promoting exports, developing domestic supporting industries, creating jobs, and making important contributions to Vietnam's economic development.

It is a pleasure to note that Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have upgraded their relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2022, opening up opportunities for strong development in bilateral cooperation. After more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, political trust between the two countries has been continuously strengthened; cooperation in all fields has developed strongly, especially in the fields of politics, economics, culture and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries has become increasingly close.

The State visit to Vietnam by President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol in June 2023 created a new momentum to promote the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop substantially, effectively and comprehensively in the future.

Welcoming the commitment of the Chairman of Samsung Electronics Group to accompany and support the development of Vietnam's supporting industry during the recent visit to Vietnam by the President of the Republic of Korea, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly supports and is ready to create a favorable legal corridor for investment, production and business activities of the domestic and foreign business community, including Korean enterprises and Samsung Group; will accompany and create favorable conditions for the Group to implement effective, successful and sustainable investment and business activities in Vietnam.

Samsung Group's Chief Financial Officer Park Hark Kyu expressed his impression of Vietnam's growth results in recent times and said that in the context of the difficult world economic situation, with the leadership of the Party, the support of the National Assembly and the drastic management of the Government, Vietnam is expected to achieve growth of 5% - 5.5% in 2023, which is admirable.

Mr. Park Hark Kyu also informed about Samsung's recent business situation; highly appreciated the business environment and the active and effective support from Vietnam that helped Samsung overcome difficulties and challenges in recent times.

General Director Park Hark Kyu expressed his hope that the Vietnamese National Assembly as well as the National Assembly Chairman himself would continue to pay attention and accompany the company to support and facilitate the business activities for the benefit of both sides; at the same time, he said that in the coming time, continuing to promote the good cooperation results based on high trust in recent years, Samsung will always accompany and contribute to the economic and social development of Vietnam.
