National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue warmly welcomed Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly Ana Maria Machado and the Cuban National Assembly delegation to visit Vietnam and attend the Global Young Parliamentarians Conference. The visit is of special significance as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of President Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated area of southern Vietnam in Quang Tri province. The fact that the Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly leads the delegation to attend the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference demonstrates the strong support of the Cuban National Assembly for Vietnam in general and the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular. Expressing her joy at coming to Vietnam to attend the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians Conference, Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly Ana Maria Mari Machado conveyed the greetings of President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández, National Assembly deputies and all Cuban people to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; said that the President of the Cuban National Assembly is preparing to lead a delegation to Vietnam to attend the 50th anniversary of President Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated area of South Vietnam in Quang Tri province (September 1973 - September 2023), and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam (September 25, 1963 - September 25, 2023). Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly Ana Maria Mari Machado respectfully thanked President of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue and the Vietnamese National Assembly for giving the Cuban National Assembly delegation a warm and respectful welcome. Recalling the historic visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Cuba in April 2023, which contributed to further strengthening the relationship between the two Parties and countries, especially between the two National Assemblies, the Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly also thanked Vietnam for its attention and assistance to Cuba in all fields, demonstrating solidarity in international forums, including supporting the call for lifting the embargo on Cuba. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly Ana Maria Mari Machado for her kind words and affection for Vietnam. Recalling memories of the very successful visit to Cuba, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked the Cuban comrades for their warm, thoughtful, and brotherly welcome. During the visit, in addition to official activities, there were many lively, substantive, and effective exchanges and cooperation activities between ministries, sectors, and localities. Many works, projects, and cooperation agreements were inaugurated, started, and signed and are currently being actively implemented by both sides, contributing significantly to fostering the traditional, loyal, pure, and special friendship between the two countries. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-Cuba relationship, with many visits, working sessions, and cooperation activities between all levels, sectors, and localities of the two countries. The National Assembly of Vietnam and relevant agencies, departments and sectors, together with Quang Tri province, are actively preparing for the visit of President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernández. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always supports Cuba and calls for an end to the policy of blockade and embargo against Cuba. The National Assembly Chairman himself and the Vietnamese National Assembly always strongly support the Cuban National Assembly becoming an observer of AIPA, supporting Cuba in strengthening relations with the ASEAN region. At the recent AIPA-44 General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Cuban National Assembly became an observer of AIPA.

The Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly thanked the Vietnamese National Assembly for supporting Cuba when the COVID-19 pandemic was complicated, supporting the Cuban National Assembly to become an observer of AIPA; affirmed that the Cuban National Assembly wishes to strengthen relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries. The Cuban National Assembly supports and highly appreciates the Vietnamese National Assembly hosting the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians with extremely practical topics for sustainable development globally. The Cuban young National Assembly delegation actively participated and contributed opinions at the sessions and activities within the framework of the Conference. The Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly also shared that Cuba's foreign policy and science and technology development policy always attach importance to the role of young people and focus on the succession of young people. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his belief that the exchange of experiences between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Cuban National Assembly will become increasingly more practical and effective.
