Warmly welcoming the delegation of the Cuban Workers' Center to visit and work in Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue recalled the good impressions during the recent official visit to Cuba.

During the official visit to Cuba by the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, which took place last April, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue had the honor of delivering a speech at the Special Plenary Session of the Cuban National Assembly, meeting with the highest leaders of the Cuban Party and State, holding in-depth talks with National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez and signing the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies. Currently, the two countries are actively implementing the cooperation agreements signed during the visit.

The National Assembly Chairman expressed his pleasure to know that during this visit, Comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento had talks with President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, and at the same time had a rich program of activities in localities to study and share experiences in activities related to trade unions and workers.

Comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in recent times, expressing his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will successfully achieve the goals set by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam by 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, and by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the country's founding. He expressed his hope that, based on its experience, Vietnam will continue to share its experience in national development with Cuba.

Comrade Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento emphasized that the official visit to Cuba by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue last April deepened the relationship between Cuba and Vietnam. Appreciating the speech of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue at the Special Plenary Session of the Cuban National Assembly, he said that the speeches of the National Assembly Chairman demonstrated the extremely good relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries, which was founded and built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro. Along with that, the business forum of the two countries held during the visit contributed to maintaining and deepening the economic and trade relations between the two countries.

The Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Center informed about strategies and policies in various areas to implement the resolution of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba and priorities to update the economic and social development model in the coming time; Cuba's efforts in mobilizing all classes of people and workers to increase production. The top priority in the current period is to perfect the agricultural production process; apply preferential tax policies, salary and bonus policies to increase labor productivity to provide consumer goods for the people. Along with that, Cuba is applying and perfecting mechanisms to grant more autonomy to state-owned enterprises.

He shared that during this working visit to Vietnam, the delegation has a working program with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor so that both sides can share practical experiences from trade union activities, grassroots trade unions, and implementing trade union policies. The two sides agreed to organize a workshop related to the development of legal regulations on protecting the rights of workers working in private enterprises. Currently, Cuba has approved a program of financial reform and social management.

Cuba is also preparing for the 50th anniversary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated area of ​​southern Vietnam in Quang Tri (September 1973 / September 2023). The Cuban Workers' Center, in coordination with relevant Vietnamese agencies, is organizing activities to commemorate this event.

He affirmed that in the process of construction and development, Cuba has always received the support and solidarity of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; at the same time, he said that despite difficulties, the leaders of the Cuban Party and State affirmed their steadfast stance in firmly protecting independence and sovereignty; and strived to overcome difficulties with resilience and creativity to continue developing the country.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked the Secretary General of the Cuban Workers’ Center for his sharing; expressed his understanding and sympathy for the difficulties Cuba is facing; and affirmed that Vietnam is ready to exchange and share experiences in nation building with Cuba.

The National Assembly Chairman said that Vietnam always encourages businesses to invest in Cuba; he hopes that Cuba will continue to pay attention, support and remove difficulties for businesses investing and doing business in Cuba. The National Assembly Chairman expressed his belief that Cuba will overcome all difficulties and become more developed, prosperous and happy.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully sent his regards to National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo Hernandez and other Cuban leaders; and respectfully invited the Cuban National Assembly Chairman to soon visit Vietnam again.
