National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hung Ba

On the afternoon of March 8, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Chinese Ambassador Hung Ba to discuss the relationship between the two Parties, two countries and the two countries' legislative bodies.
At the reception, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his delight at the great success and particularly important results of the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping (December 2023), especially the agreement of the two sides to continue to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China of strategic significance.

The two sides were pleased to note that over the past time, six major cooperation directions between the two countries have been implemented and initially achieved very positive results. High-level exchanges and contacts at all levels, sectors and localities of the two countries have been closely implemented. Economic, trade and investment cooperation has achieved many outstanding results. The two sides agreed to maintain regular high-level exchanges and contacts in flexible forms; effectively implement the high-level common perception on enhancing people-to-people exchanges, promote active propaganda about the Vietnam-China friendship as well as the achievements of innovation, reform and opening up of each country, enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries, especially the young generation. At the same time, strengthen coordination and mutual support within multilateral frameworks, such as the United Nations, ASEAN, APEC, ASEM, Mekong - Lancang... as well as strengthen coordination at multilateral parliamentary forums of the region and the world. Ambassador Hung Ba highly appreciated the visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in 2022 and the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in 2023. The visits were successful and of historic significance to the China-Vietnam relationship.

According to Mr. Hung Ba, the senior leaders of the two sides have determined the new position of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries. In particular, the two General Secretaries jointly declared the building of a "China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance". This is an important milestone of decisive significance for the development of the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the new era, which has a great influence and important orientation for the relationship between the two countries in the coming time. Ambassador Hung Ba highly appreciated the good development of the relationship between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China in recent times, contributing to promoting the relationship between the two parties and the two countries.
Promote visits of high-ranking leaders of the two countries
Regarding the relationship between the two National Assemblies, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that in the overall effort to promote "increasingly higher political trust", the cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China has been constantly consolidated and developed in depth.
The two sides also agreed to promote bilateral relations between the two countries and visits by senior leaders and legislative bodies of the two countries in the coming time.

The two sides maintained exchanges in many flexible forms such as online talks, sending delegations of leaders of committees, specialized agencies, and friendship parliamentarian groups to visit each other; maintained contact, consultation, and close coordination at regional and international parliamentary forums, especially the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA). The two sides agreed to continue promoting bilateral relations between the two countries and visits by high-ranking leaders and legislative bodies of the two countries in the coming time. The National Assembly Chairman believes that, with his affection, experience, and understanding of Vietnam and the relationship between the two countries, Ambassador Hung Ba will continue to be a bridge to effectively promote cooperation between the two countries, contributing to the good implementation of the common perception of high-ranking leaders; concretizing new achievements and new connotations of the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership; bring the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to continuously develop in depth, stability, goodness and long-term sustainability.
