On the occasion of his official visit to Iran, on the evening of August 8, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with the Vietnamese community in Iran in the capital Tehran.

Currently, Iran is lacking agricultural products such as melons, pineapples, coconuts, rambutans, sweet potatoes, etc. These are products that Vietnam has strengths in, so it can increase exports to Iran.

Talking to officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Iran, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his joy at visiting the Embassy and compatriots on the first day of his official visit to Iran.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said this is the first visit to Iran by a Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman in 25 years. The visit is of great significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Iran.
The National Assembly Chairman said that the two countries have very good political and diplomatic relations. The Supreme Leader of Iran has good feelings for the country and people of Vietnam, especially admiring President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap. Iran has always supported Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and unification as well as in the current construction and development of the country.
The National Assembly Chairman also said that on the first working day, the National Assembly Chairman held talks with the Iranian Parliament Chairman, and together with the Iranian Parliament Chairman signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two countries' parliaments; and met with the Iranian President.
Both the President and the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament agreed that the two countries need to promote trade cooperation commensurate with the good political relations and potential of each country. Currently, bilateral trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Iran is still very modest.
In addition, during this visit, relevant ministries and branches of both sides also signed a number of important cooperation agreements aimed at protecting citizens and creating favorable conditions for investors and businesses of the two countries to promote cooperation.
