National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended the first Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Summit in Laos to strengthen and consolidate the friendship, close solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

At the invitation of Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane and Thai National Assembly Chairman Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, on the morning of December 4, Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly left Hanoi to attend the first Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam (CLV) Summit, visit and work in the Lao People's Democratic Republic from December 4-7, 2023; and pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand from December 7-10, 2023. According to VNA, the delegation included Party Central Committee members: Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha; Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee Le Tan Toi; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Son La Province Nguyen Huu Dong; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang Province Lam Van Man; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa Province Do Trong Hung; Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army. Also participating in the delegation were: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung; Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh; representatives of leaders of a number of National Assembly Committees, ministries, branches, central agencies and a number of localities attending the first Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam National Assembly Summit and related activities. At the 43rd AIPA General Assembly (in December 2022), National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrin, and Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane signed a Joint Statement officially establishing the mechanism of the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam Parliamentary Summit (CLV) held every two years, co-chaired by the three National Assembly Chairmen. The National Assembly Chairman attended the first Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam (CLV) Parliamentary Summit to strengthen and consolidate the friendship, close solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation; promote the exchange and sharing of information, legislative experience, supervision, and practices between the three National Assemblies of Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam, with a focus on promoting cooperation in foreign politics, socio-economic development, defense - security cooperation, and people-to-people exchange for the sustainable development of the three countries in the Development Triangle Area and connecting the three economies. On the basis of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States, two National Assemblies and peoples of Vietnam and Laos, within the framework of the visit and work in Laos, the National Assembly Chairman is expected to have meetings, talks and conferences with senior leaders of the Lao Party, State and National Assembly; and discuss a number of directions and measures to strengthen Vietnam - Laos cooperation in the coming time. According to the program, from December 7-10, 2023, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand. This is Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue's first official visit to Thailand as Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, and also the first visit to Thailand by a senior leader of Vietnam after Thailand established a new Government. The visit is of great significance in the context that the two sides are actively promoting the Action Program to implement the Enhanced Strategic Partnership for the 2022-2027 period and actively carrying out practical activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership (2013-2023).
