National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his pleasure on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to pay an official visit to Iran on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
The National Assembly Chairman said that at the talks, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of opinions in the spirit of friendship and trust, focusing on areas ranging from politics, diplomacy to economics, trade, investment, agriculture, and cooperation at multilateral forums.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, the two sides agreed to highly appreciate the good cooperation results between the two countries in recent times and affirmed their desire to continue to further promote the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.
The two sides will coordinate to enhance connectivity and cooperation between localities and businesses; and study payment mechanisms. Along with that, the two countries will facilitate trade cooperation to increase two-way trade turnover.
Also at the press conference, President Vuong Dinh Hue said that the two sides agreed to promote people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, education, training, science and technology, contributing to strengthening friendship and enhancing understanding between the people of the two countries. In addition, the two sides also discussed measures to promote cooperation in other potential areas.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue announced that immediately after the press conference, the two sides will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two National Assemblies. This is the first agreement in the history of cooperation between the two countries' National Assemblies. Accordingly, the two sides will strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange delegations at high and all levels; enhance the role of the Legislative Body in promoting bilateral relations; coordinate to monitor the effective implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two Governments; support and enhance connectivity and cooperation between businesses; create favorable conditions to support the business community as well as people of the two countries living, investing and doing business in each country...
The National Assembly Chairman expressed his belief and expectation that the signing and implementation of this memorandum of understanding on cooperation as well as many other cooperation documents in diverse fields such as justice, sports, plant quarantine, animal quarantine, trade, local cooperation and business cooperation will not only contribute to promoting cooperation between the two National Assemblies but also make an important contribution to consolidating and tightening the friendship and effective cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

Expressing his honor to welcome National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation on an official visit to Iran, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that at the talks, the two sides agreed to promote bilateral cooperation; strengthen cooperation in economics, trade, banking, fisheries, etc. between the two countries; and at the same time promote cooperation in customs, double taxation avoidance and contents related to investment protection encouragement.
Referring to the good news that National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue brought about the Vietnamese National Assembly's approval of regulations on mass issuance of electronic visas, extension of e-visa validity and length of stay to facilitate foreigners entering Vietnam, the Iranian Parliament Chairman said that this will also facilitate Iranians to go to Vietnam, thereby creating conditions for the two sides to promote cooperation in tourism and open direct flights between Tehran and Hanoi.
The two sides emphasized the need to promote cooperation and exchanges between the Parliamentary Friendship Groups of the two countries; promote parliamentary cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral levels, such as at regional and international parliamentary forums, as well as at forums and organizations of the United Nations.
