National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife depart for the 150th IPU Assembly and official visits to Uzbekistan and Armenia

This afternoon, April 1, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, along with the high-ranking delegation of our country left Hanoi to attend the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150), and pay an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Armenia from April 2 to 8 at the invitation of IPU President Tulia Ackson and IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong, President of the Senate of the Uzbekistani Parliament Tanzila Narbaeva, and President of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan.

The high-ranking delegation of Vietnam includes: Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly , Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Party Central Committee member, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung; Party Central Committee member, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi; Party Central Committee member, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the Culture and Social Affairs Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh; Party Central Committee member, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the People's Aspirations and Supervision Committee Duong Thanh Binh; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee Vu Hai Ha; Party Central Committee member, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Le Quang Manh; Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of National Defense Vo Minh Luong; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security Tran Quoc To; Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation, concurrently Armenia and Uzbekistan Dang Minh Khoi; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

Also participating in the Delegation were leaders of the National Assembly Committees and leaders of ministries, branches and localities.

This working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man aims to continue implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, proactiveness and activeness in comprehensive and extensive international integration in the spirit of the 13th National Party Congress, Resolution No. 34-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of major orientations for implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress; Conclusion No. 71-KL/TW dated February 16, 2024 of the Politburo on a number of major tasks and solutions for implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress; Conclusion No. 125-KL/TW dated February 14, 2025 of the Secretariat on strengthening the implementation of Directive No. 25-CT/TW dated August 8, 2018 of the Secretariat on promoting and elevating multilateral diplomacy; Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo dated January 24, 2025 on international integration in the new situation.

At the same time, affirming Vietnam's role as a proactive, active and responsible member at the IPU as well as at multilateral forums, contributing to strengthening multilateralism, international cooperation and solidarity, promoting Vietnam's role and position in regional and international parliamentary cooperation mechanisms; emphasizing that through attending the 150th IPU Congress, Vietnam continues to maintain and promote relations with IPU member countries and parliaments.

The visit also aims to highlight Vietnam's achievements in socio-economic development, people-centered policies, and the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in formulating and supervising the implementation of policies and laws to promote sustainable development and ensure fairness. At the same time, it affirms Vietnam's consistent policy of always attaching importance to and wishing to strengthen relations with traditional friends, including Uzbekistan and Armenia, as well as its determination to work with the two countries to promote cooperation in many aspects, in the context of the increasingly important role of the Central Asian region and the Caucasus region in international cooperation; consolidate and enhance mutual understanding, promote political dialogue at the highest level on the National Assembly channel, and exchange measures to promote cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the two countries' National Assemblies; facilitate to promote mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with each country, especially in the fields of economics, trade, investment, education, training, culture, sports, tourism, local cooperation...
