On December 4, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and his wife met with Emperor Naruhito and Empress at the Imperial Palace.
In a friendly atmosphere, the Japanese Emperor expressed his gratitude for Vietnam's support in the aftermath of the earthquake in the Noto Peninsula. The Japanese Emperor also sent condolences for the damage caused by the typhoon in Vietnam last September.
Emphasizing that Japan and Vietnam just celebrated the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2023, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam emphasized that the relationship between the two countries has developed strongly in many fields, from politics to culture; expressed gratitude for Japan's support for Vietnam over the years.
* On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji. The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the potential and strengths of Kanagawa Prefecture in terms of economy, culture, science and technology, tourism, manufacturing industry, biotechnology, education, healthcare, etc. In particular, every year, the province organizes fairs and exhibitions with themes related to Vietnam to attract tourists and investors to Vietnam.
Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to meet him; he said that cultural exchange is a boost to promote economic cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
Emphasizing that the aging process in Japan is taking place rapidly, the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture said that he has researched and proposed a new approach to building a healthy society; he hopes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam to combat population aging.
Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man He said that with its strengths, Kanagawa province can cooperate with a number of Vietnamese provinces and cities to organize many events and exhibitions, promoting cooperation between localities of the two countries in many fields.
At the reception, the Governor of Kanagawa province presented the Speaker of the National Assembly with a book he wrote on measures to cope with population aging.
