On the morning of July 1, at the Hau Giang Provincial Convention Center, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the National Assembly delegation presented gifts to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.

Speaking at the event, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his warm regards to revolutionary elders, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the people's armed forces, labor heroes, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions in Hau Giang province.
The National Assembly Chairman stated that, continuing the ethics of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude", over the past 77 years, our Party, State and People have always remembered, respected, shown gratitude and considered the care of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, martyrs' families and people with meritorious services to be the responsibility of all levels, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system, all people, and today's and future generations.
Many Party policies and State laws on preferential treatment for people with meritorious services have been issued, such as: health care, support for improving housing and land; promoting the search and collection of martyrs' remains; building and renovating thousands of martyrs' cemeteries; promoting socio-economic development in localities; supporting education for children of families with meritorious services...
According to the National Assembly Chairman, on June 25, President To Lam signed Decision No. 590/QD-CTN on giving gifts to more than 1.3 million people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day with a total cost of 420 billion VND.
The whole Hau Giang province currently has 36,243 people with revolutionary contributions receiving monthly allowances.

The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated Hau Giang province for mobilizing resources to care for people with revolutionary contributions and policy families over the past years. In particular, Hau Giang has basically completed the construction of gratitude houses to support war invalids with housing; basically completed the support for building solidarity houses for poor households...
"Hau Giang can be said to be a difficult province in the Mekong Delta region, but with the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people, and the help of the Central Government, you have mobilized all resources to take care of people with meritorious services and policy families in the province," Mr. Man emphasized.
The National Assembly Chairman requested Hau Giang province to continue to focus on synchronously and comprehensively implementing Directive No. 14-CT/TW of the Secretariat on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the work of people with revolutionary contributions through extremely practical actions to ensure that people with revolutionary contributions and their families fully enjoy preferential policies of the Party and State.

The National Assembly Chairman also requested Hau Giang province to continue to mobilize the entire political system of the province, individuals, agencies and organizations with specific, practical actions and actively participate in the work of meritorious people.
Here, Mr. Tran Thanh Man and the delegation presented 20 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, and people with revolutionary contributions; and witnessed the presentation of a symbolic plaque to present 100 solidarity houses to Hau Giang province.
