The National Assembly Chairman said that the signing of the cooperation agreement between Nara and Thua Thien-Hue will create opportunities for the two localities to exchange experiences in socio-economic development and other fields.
According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, within the framework of his official visit to Japan, on the morning of December 4 in Tokyo, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Governor of Nara Province Yamashita Makoto and local leaders.
Congratulating the Governor of Nara province on signing a cooperation agreement with Thua Thien-Hue province on the occasion of the locality being recognized as one of the six centrally-governed cities with the name Hue city, the National Assembly Chairman said that the signing of the cooperation agreement will create opportunities for the two localities to exchange and learn experiences in the process of socio-economic development and other fields.
Governor Yamashita Makoto expressed his pleasure that National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Nara and Thua Thien-Hue province.
The two localities will jointly organize the 14th East Asia Regional and Local Government Conference in 2025 and continue to sign memorandums of understanding on specific areas of cooperation.
Governor Yamashita Makoto said that in Nara there are currently 4,000 Vietnamese working in the manufacturing, nursing and medical sectors, making it the largest foreign community in the prefecture.
Recently, the locality has received many students from Ho Chi Minh City to work at companies and businesses in the area. In the coming time, Nara province leaders hope to have more workers from Thua Thien Hue province come to Nara to work.
The Governor of Nara Prefecture expressed his hope that the Vietnamese National Assembly and Government would continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for implementing cooperation programs between the two localities in the future.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed the cooperation plan between Nara province and Vietnamese localities in trade and investment promotion activities, tourism cooperation, labor, etc.; thereby, the two sides have many opportunities to exchange experiences, especially in the field of tourism, which is considered a strength of Thua Thien-Hue province with famous historical and cultural relics.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Nara province for their attention and support for 4,000 Vietnamese people studying, working and living conveniently; and highly appreciated the promotion of cooperation in human resource training in areas of Nara province’s strengths with Vietnamese localities.
Also on the morning of December 4, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received Mr. Ohno Keiji, Chairman of Aeon Mall Limited Liability Company in Japan.

The Chairman of Aeon Mall Co., Ltd. in Japan expressed his honor and gratitude to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive him.
Sharing about the Company's activities in Vietnam, Mr. Ohno Keiji said that Aeon Mall opened its first shopping mall in Vietnam in 2014; last September, the Aeon Mall Hue Shopping Mall Investment Project was also opened. This is the first shopping mall and the largest general service shopping mall in the Central region to date of Aeon Mall.
The Chairman of Aeon Mall Japan Co., Ltd. highly appreciated National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for attending and witnessing the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Aeon Mall and Can Tho city; expressed hope that in the coming time, with this cooperation, the company will contribute to the development of Can Tho city with local people; and wished to continue to be facilitated to expand investment cooperation in other provinces and cities of Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for investors to come to Vietnam, including Aeon Mall; supports Aeon Mall's business strategy in Vietnam; and said that many other provinces and cities are ready to cooperate with Aeon Mall in opening shopping malls in Vietnam./.
