On the afternoon of November 22, in Phnom Penh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
Prime Minister Hun Manet thanked the National Assembly Chairman for his official visit to Cambodia and his attendance at two important conferences hosted by Cambodia. This is a testament to the determination of both sides in developing good neighborly relations, good friends, and working together to build and develop the country.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man informed Prime Minister Hun Manet about the results of the very successful talks with National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary. The two National Assembly Chairmen inaugurated the Cambodian National Assembly administrative building - a symbol of the traditional solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two countries strengthen economic and trade cooperation, and asked the Cambodian side to continue paying attention and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Cambodia.
The Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to coordinate with Cambodia to promote ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises to actively and effectively implement signed treaties, agreements and arrangements; coordinate to well organize the 21st meeting of the Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the 13th Conference on Cooperation and Development of Vietnam - Cambodia Border Provinces in Cambodia at a suitable time.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that both sides continue to promote the demarcation of the remaining 16% to build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
The two sides will continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums; closely coordinate at ASEAN and the United Nations; maintain and promote ASEAN consensus, including on the East Sea issue; and fight against distorted and destructive arguments against Vietnam-Cambodia relations.
The two leaders agreed that both sides need to strengthen education for the younger generation to understand the sacrifices and contributions of the previous generation; thereby contributing to further consolidating and developing the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship.
Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that the Cambodian Government always cares about and fosters the good neighborly friendship between the two countries.
The two governments need to coordinate closely and promptly inform each other on issues to deal with challenges that threaten the development of each country; support cooperation between the two legislative bodies for the benefit of the people; and strengthen cooperation between the three parties of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia for economic development.
Prime Minister Hun Manet highly appreciated Vietnam's support for Cambodia's development; the development of Vietnam - Cambodia will contribute to the stability and development of the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.
Earlier on the morning of November 22, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, along with members of the Executive Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), leaders of the 12th ICAPP Plenary Conference, and leaders of political parties/partner organizations paid a courtesy call to President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Senate Hun Sen.

The President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for attending the conference and thanked the Communist Party of Vietnam for sending a delegation to attend the conference hosted by Cambodia.
Mr. Hun Sen affirmed that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will continue to inherit the previous development path to turn Cambodia into an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050; especially strengthening solidarity, cooperation and friendship with other countries.
