On the morning of September 11, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue worked with the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians to review preparations for the conference.
Attending the meeting were Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Conference Organizing Committee; members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Heads of the Conference Organizing Committee: Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong; Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha; Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Group of Young Vietnamese National Assembly Deputies, XVth tenure Nguyen Anh Tuan; Heads of Sub-committees of the Conference Organizing Committee, National Conference Secretariat.
In his directive speech, the National Assembly Chairman requested that the Heads of Subcommittees and units closely follow and grasp the progress of each specific and detailed task in the preparation for the organization of the Conference and be responsible for the results of the assigned work.
The National Assembly Chairman also noted the need to focus on propaganda before, during and after the Conference; the Organizing Committee needs to ensure the provision of official and timely information to news agencies and the press.
The National Secretariat of the Conference urgently reviewed the list of official delegates attending the Conference's activities, had a detailed plan to assign delegates to attend thematic discussion sessions and activities in the program; and prepared plans and strategies for bilateral meetings on the sidelines.
Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man emphasized that there are only 3 days left until the Conference, therefore, members of the Organizing Committee, Sub-committees of the Organizing Committee, the National Secretariat and agencies and units must strictly implement the conclusions of the National Assembly Chairman at the meetings reviewing the preparation work for the Conference to promptly report on each work content, continue to enhance the sense of responsibility, proactively coordinate and urge the implementation of assigned tasks.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also requested agencies and units to urgently learn from experience in organizing and implementing the conference in the past, regularly review the preparation work, calculate backup plans, and ensure that the preparation work for the conference is carried out on time and according to the set requirements.
The National Secretariat of the Conference closely coordinated with the IPU Secretariat and relevant parties to finalize the draft Hanoi Declaration; coordinated with the Reception-Logistics-Security-Health Subcommittee to carefully prepare a plan to welcome delegates.
The Information and Propaganda Subcommittee continues to closely coordinate with news agencies and press to closely follow the propaganda project and monitor the activities in the program to ensure complete, timely and vivid propaganda work.
According to the National Secretariat of the Conference, 76 international delegations with a total of more than 300 delegates have registered to attend the Conference. Preparations for the Conference have been basically completed./.
The Young Parliamentarians Forum was established within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in 2013. Since 2014, the IPU has organized the Global Meeting of Young Parliamentarians annually, considered an important platform to empower young leaders. The purpose of the Conference is to strengthen the role of young parliamentarians and youth participation in parliamentary activities and to make recommendations from the perspective of young people on the activities and agenda of the IPU; to build networks, unite and enhance capacity, and expand the approach of young people to issues of common concern. The 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, hosted by the National Assembly of Vietnam, is a very important multilateral foreign affairs event and a highlight of 2023. The conference is scheduled to take place from September 14-18, 2023 in Hanoi with the theme: "The role of Youth in promoting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals through Digital Transformation and Innovation" including 3 topics: Digital Transformation; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Cultural and Human Values in Sustainable Development. On April 13, the 23-member Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, headed by Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, was established under Resolution No. 766/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated April 12, 2023 of the National Assembly Standing Committee. |
