With nearly 30 activities, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's working trip to Cambodia was a great success, fulfilling all set goals and requirements.
According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the afternoon of November 24, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam arrived in Hanoi, successfully concluding the official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, attending the 12th Plenary Meeting of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and the 11th Plenary Meeting of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP 11).
During the visit, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary; met with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet; and attended the inauguration ceremony of the Cambodian National Assembly administrative building - a symbol of the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two countries. National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the State of Cambodia to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.
In the capital Phnom Penh, the National Assembly Chairman had an audience with King Norodom Sihamoni; received President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association Samdech Men Sam An and met former President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State visited the staff of the Embassy and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.
As a special guest attending the 12th Plenary Session of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), speaking at the opening session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam advocates a consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification of foreign relations, readiness to be a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community; supporting the efforts of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties in creating an environment of peace, security and stability in the region.
Sharing with the leaders of parliaments and parliamentarians of the countries attending IPTP 11, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that Vietnam is a peace-loving nation with a tradition of tolerance, humanity and peace. Having gone through many wars for national independence and unification, Vietnam especially cherishes the value of peace, stability and friendship so that every citizen can enjoy independence, freedom, prosperity and happiness.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam highly appreciates and fully supports Cambodia’s efforts to promote dialogue, reconciliation and cooperation. As a neighboring country of Cambodia, Vietnam believes that Cambodia’s successful experiences in national development and building friendly and cooperative relations with neighboring and regional countries will contribute to promoting peace and cooperation in the region as well as in the world.
With nearly 30 activities, the working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man was a great success, completing all the set goals and requirements.
The visit continues to bring Vietnam-Cambodia relations into a new stage of development on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, effective cooperation, and respect for each other's interests; contributing to consolidating strategic trust and deepening relations between the two countries, promoting cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Cambodian National Assembly and Senate./.
