This is the first working trip of the head of the Vietnamese National Assembly in 2025 and to attend the 150th IPU Assembly. This sends a clear message about Vietnam's strong support for multilateralism in general, multilateral parliamentary cooperation and the role of the IPU in particular.
Attending the 150th IPU Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed a number of orientations for parliaments to strengthen international cooperation, share experiences and support each other in building development policies, responding promptly and effectively to current challenges.
Emphasizing that no country or society can develop sustainably without putting people at the center of all policies, the National Assembly Chairman called on all parliamentarians and all countries to take stronger actions and work together to build a fair, prosperous and sustainable world.

On the occasion of attending the 150th IPU Assembly, the National Assembly Chairman had bilateral meetings with the President and Secretary General of the IPU, and the presidents of national assemblies/parliaments of the countries, to discuss measures to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the IPU and with the countries and parliaments of the IPU; to better promote the role of each country's parliament in expanding and deepening cooperation and partnership in all fields...
During his official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and held talks with Senate Chairman Tanzila Narbaeva and House of Representatives Chairman Nuriddin Ismoilov.
In a friendly and open atmosphere, the leaders of the two countries discussed many issues and shared their visions on bilateral cooperation; highly appreciated the positive developments in the relationship between the two countries in recent times, affirming the very important contributions of the National Assemblies of the two countries. In that spirit, the two sides agreed that in the coming time, it is necessary to increase exchanges and in-depth political dialogue at all levels, especially at high levels, through the channels of the Party, State, Government and National Assembly; continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums. Along with that, continue to strengthen cooperation between legislative bodies, share experiences in supervising law enforcement and deciding on important issues of the country...
Assessing that economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan still has a lot of untapped potential and advantages, the leaders of the two countries agreed to increase information exchange on policies and markets; create favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to participate in investment and trade promotion activities; promote cooperation in the fields of energy, oil and gas, and other fields in which both sides have potential and demand.

In Tashkent, the National Assembly Chairman received the Chairman of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Committee on Inter-Ethnic Relations and Overseas Vietnamese of Uzbekistan, and attended the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Business Forum. On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman also met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan and the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan; visited Tashkent Oriental University, and met with teachers and students studying Vietnamese there...
The working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to attend IPU-150 and pay an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan was a great success, contributing to enhancing the position and image of the Vietnamese National Assembly in multilateral parliamentary forums, while strengthening political trust and creating momentum for Vietnam and Uzbekistan to continue to tighten and enhance the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
