In the atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the 93rd anniversary of Nghe Tinh Soviet Day (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2023), on the afternoon of September 8, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with the delegation of the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Captured and Imprisoned by the Enemy in Nghe An province.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue speaks at the meeting.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated Nghe An province's policy of establishing the Association. Since its official establishment in 2009, the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Captured and Imprisoned by the Enemy in Nghe An province has gathered, consolidated and built an increasingly strong organization.
The members of the association are role models, always maintaining faith in the leadership of the Party, State, local Party committees and authorities; are the support and trust of the people; and the core force ensuring security and order in the area.
In particular, members are always pioneers in major events of the country such as elections of National Assembly deputies, People's Councils at all levels, in difficult times, epidemics...
Appreciating the Association members' focus on educating the young generation in the armed forces, vocational schools, and general schools on revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyle, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that in the exchanges and meetings, the presence of the association members has a great influence and persuasion because the members are real people and real examples. Each person is a separate story for the young generation to follow.
The Association has done a good job in organizing and operating, always maintaining order and working regimes in accordance with the regulations. The Association has paid attention to gathering and uniting those who participated in the revolution and resistance activities and were captured and imprisoned by the enemy and are living in the province; organized for members to visit old battlefields, visit historical and cultural relics throughout the country, especially to revisit places where they were detained during the resistance war such as Phu Quoc Prison and Con Dao Prison.
The Association has actively coordinated with all levels and sectors, mobilized social resources to encourage and care for the spiritual and material life and legitimate and legal rights of members; promoted the spirit of comradeship, caring for and helping each other to overcome difficulties, contributing to the effective implementation of the province's socio-economic development programs. The Association visited and encouraged members to actively participate in poverty reduction and legitimate enrichment.
Paying attention to the search for comrades' remains, the Association has found 47 sets of martyrs' remains that have not been collected in cemeteries and brought them back to their hometowns for burial. This is proof of the correctness of Nghe An province in establishing the Association.
With the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", always remembering those who have contributed to the revolution, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Party, State and people always remember, show gratitude and care for those who have contributed to the revolution, including revolutionary soldiers who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy.
The upcoming 8th Central Conference will summarize 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW, dated June 10, 2012 of the 11th Party Central Committee on a number of social policy issues for the 2012-2020 period, including policies for people with meritorious services.
With a number of outstanding records of meritorious people, the Party, Government, National Assembly, ministries and branches are very interested in this work. For cases of force majeure where records have not been confirmed, local authorities and committees at all levels will make efforts to ensure that these cases have the same policies as meritorious people.
In addition, the regime and policies for people with meritorious services have been expanded in terms of beneficiaries with the subsidy level being raised annually according to the economic conditions of the country. Along with that, localities have had activities to support people with meritorious services and policy families.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hoped that members would continue to promote the revolutionary tradition of steadfastness and indomitability in combat, diligence and creativity in work; closely follow the Association's principles and goals, continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, foster camaraderie, and contribute to building the homeland and the country.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the local government of Nghe Anh province will continue to pay attention to and take care of the lives of families with revolutionary contributions, including members of the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy as well as members of the families of members; creating a foundation to pass on the spirit of revolutionary soldiers to their descendants./.
