Vietnam attaches great importance to and gives top priority to preserving and promoting the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance between the two Parties and countries, and enhancing the relationship of "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability" with Cambodia.

History has proven that solidarity, unity, cooperation and mutual assistance are objective inevitability, the law of survival and the most important factor for the security and development of each country. At a recent meeting, the leaders of the three parties of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam affirmed to continue to cultivate and pass on this precious tradition to future generations.

During the phone call, the two leaders affirmed that in the context of the world and the region continuing to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner, the two countries need to strengthen closer cooperation, including the extremely important role of the two countries' legislative bodies.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the Party, State, National Assembly and Government of Vietnam wish to continue to cooperate closely with Cambodia, especially in international and regional issues; regularly maintain the close cooperation mechanism between the three countries of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam...

President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen provided further information on the situation in Cambodia, the role of the Cambodian Senate and the President of the Senate, and Cambodia's socio-economic development goals. Cambodia's policy remains unchanged, with Vietnam always being one of the priority countries. Both the Cambodian House of Representatives and Senate promote relations with the Vietnamese National Assembly.

Mr. Hun Sen said he had given a speech before the Cambodian Senate, affirming that he would continue to promote the role of the Cambodian Senate and strengthen cooperation between the two countries' legislatures.

In the first months of 2024, a large number of Vietnamese tourists visited Cambodia, showing the potential for tourism cooperation between the two countries. The Cambodian side encouraged further cooperation between ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries, especially in border provinces.

The two leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries' legislatures, continuing to support each other in parliamentary forums such as AIPA, IPU, APPF... Closely coordinate and support Laos to successfully assume the role of ASEAN Chair and AIPA Chair in 2024.

The two sides continue to promote cooperation to connect the two economies in trade, investment, and tourism. Promote the settlement of land border demarcation and marker planting between the two countries, especially the remaining 16% of the border. Enhance cooperation in the fields of defense, security, and transnational crime; jointly promote the development of the border area into an area of ​​peace, cooperation, and development.
