This is the first visit of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast to Vietnam and also the first visit of a high-ranking leader of the State of Ivory Coast to Vietnam after 48 years of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Along with President of the National Assembly Adama Bictogo, the high-ranking delegation of the Ivorian National Assembly visiting Vietnam this time also includes two Vice Presidents of the National Assembly and leaders of the National Assembly Committees, demonstrating the importance of the Ivorian leadership in relations with Vietnam, expressing the desire to strengthen cooperation on the National Assembly channel between the two countries, promoting cooperation in the fields of economy - trade, transportation, rice cultivation, agricultural processing, education, health, sports, etc.
The invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to the President of the Ivory Coast National Assembly to visit Vietnam continues to affirm the consistent policy of the Party and State of Vietnam to always attach importance to the good friendship and cooperation with Ivory Coast and African countries, wishing to deepen the trust relationship between the two countries in all fields. At the same time, he wishes to further promote cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies, making bilateral parliamentary cooperation increasingly effective and substantive; creating momentum to expand cooperation between the two countries in many other fields, especially improving the effectiveness of economic cooperation between the two countries, strengthening cooperation at multilateral forums. Thereby, contributing to the effective implementation of the foreign policy of the 13th National Congress, Resolution No. 34 of the Politburo on a number of major orientations and policies to implement the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, the Project "Developing relations between Vietnam and Middle Eastern and African countries in the period of 2016-2025".

As scheduled, during the visit, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Adama Bictogo will lay a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs; visit Uncle Ho's Stilt House; attend the official welcoming ceremony and hold talks with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; pay a courtesy visit to President Vo Van Thuong and meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
National Assembly Chairman Adama Bictogo is expected to have working sessions with a number of Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities and a number of sideline activities.
